LMAO I just realized Bray pretended to blow his lantern out while in the arena.
A lantern that CLEARLY HAD NO FLAME IN IT TO BEGIN WITH. He looked like such a goof blowing so hard at it.

The chants won't kill the gimmick but like the "what" chants they are annoying wrestling hipster bullshit. Seriously do those morons go to see Lone Ranger and chant "Captain Sparrow"?
Luckily it was just a small section of idiots trying to show off how cool and edgy they are by chanting the old names of a wrestler, it won't kill the gimmick just like its not what killed Tensai, it was debuting a fat white dude as some kind of Asian Wrestling Demon that killed him.
But seriously f**k those guys, I don't give a crap if its their "right" or they bought tickets, f**k those guys and their lame tired ass chants

I thought the debut was very well done and the initial reaction to their entrance was great, considering they are all basically unknowns. But as everyone else, I hated the Husky Harris chants, I will really grow to hate them if he is actually doing a great promo and they continue on with their idiocracy. No kidding, he's Husky Harris, I haven't known the entire time he has been the Bray Wyatt character. Hopefully he can counter them, saying they are sheep or what not. But I will give it time and hopefully he can get his new gimmic over enough that these chants become a thing of the past.

I haven't read through the whole thread, but did anyone else notice that Bray almost tripped on a video camera cable at one point?
If he had actually tripped, that would've made it the most embarrassing debut since the Shockmaster.

I'll post this here cuz the other threads were closed I just don't see the point in chanting an old characters name at a Guy. How does that add to their enjoyment of the show? If these people where in the past, think of all great characters that would've been annoyingly ridiculed by the crowd. "Mean Mark Call-ous" "Stunn-ing Steve" "Cac-tus Jack" "I-saac Yan-kem" "Di-mond Stu-udd" "Vin-nie Ve-gas" "Ter-ra Ry-sing" "Din-go Wa-rrior" ...and so on Seriously, everyone has had a different name before they made it big. And nearly everyone knew about them even back then. Hell I was a little kid with no Internet and knew who all of these guys were before they debuted in their famous personas and I'm sure I wasn't alone. I wish crowds would just sit back and give new characters a chance to show what they can do instead of go "ooh I know him" and not even watch the segment. You can't really lump Austin and Foley into that . All of Steve Austin's various names were the same "Steve Austin" character continuity wise. And Cactus Jack was just a facet of Mick Foley's overall gimmick of having multiple personalities. I do think that Wyatt's past should be acknowledged, if for no other reason it makes him come off as a "veteran" who "paid his dues". Compare that to Ryback, whose past as Skip Sheffield, and his run on Tough Enough are not acknowledged, so as a result, it just looks like a "newbie" getting a forced megapush "too soon". \

Back to the Wyatts, I liked the debut, but it looks like the guy in the sheep mask is going to suck in the ring.

So, just looked up the segment now that it's properly on Youtube, and... Okay, yeah, I'll grant that it when the chanting starts it completely takes you out of the beatdown and comes off like a punchline, but I laughed at it so y'know what, fine with me.

Those chants were awful.
If anyone's ever sitting beside someone who does it, turn the hell around and tell them to STFU.

The chants weren't too bad. That pop was insane for a debut.

They can still save it, have a promo like someone suggested. Would be even better for the character.
Oh, and if some of you think the reactions here are bad, search "Husky Harris" on Twitter. So much rage. Saw someone call Baltimore as a whole a c***. Funny stuff.

So...
can we talk about where the character goes from here rather than talk about a 1 ro 2% of Baltimore's fans chanting "Husky Harris"? Only reason people are upset is because they like this gimmick and want it to succeed. When fans have chanted similarly at less well-liked characters who were repackaged, I don't remember the backlash.
My thought after watching the debut is that Kane is going to end up joining the Family as their Leatherface. Daniel Bryan just did the whole "weak link" thing where he proved he wasn't the weak link of Team Hell No. With his continued success, I'm guessing Kane will end up doubting himself and joining Wyatt and going from slightly comedic face to evil monster heel one more time.

I still can't get over the fact that he "blew out" a lantern that had a light bulb in it

I think Kane would overshadow them too much if they did that. He's probably retiring soon anyways so I think they should have the Wyatt's destroy Kane once and for all if they want to get them over as a supergroup.

Couple thoughts 1. Maybe the crowd was in such awe of this new stable of unknowns, they thought of the only person they knew who could stop the Wyatt Family... former superstar Husky Harris. 2. Want the chants to stop? Change Sin Cara's name to Husky Harris. Bo Dallas is renamed Husky Harris. The crowd is too conflicted to chant.

Didn't like the chants and I'm glad WWE cut to commercial soon after they got started up. I don't think they will ruin the gimic longterm. Thought the debut was OK but was a little underwhelmed.

My problem with the debut was that it's more of the same. Everything until the beatdown was tremendous, then it went into the Nexus/Shield territory. There's gotta be a more unique way to debut groups in the WWE.
That said, I don't care about the chants. I don't like them, but Sexual Chocolate chants haven't stopped Mark Henry from being taken seriously. I've been a fan of Bray Wyatt since he was Husky Harris and that fandom became stronger when he redebuted as Bray Wyatt. I can't wait to see where they take them next week.

This is entirely guesswork from watching the one segment, but given the rumors about Taker working SummerSlam I kind of got to wondering if they might be setting up the Wyatt Family against the Brothers of Destruction there. I don't particularly want to see that happen, but if nothing else it'd probably mean they have a ton of faith in Wyatt if they did it and in that sense it'd be a good thing.

At least the crowd wasn't chanting "Bo is better. Clap clap clap clap Bo is better. Clap clap clap clap."
Still stoked about the Wyatt Family debut and looking forward to their next appearance.
