The chants won't kill the gimmick but like the "what" chants they are annoying wrestling hipster bullshit. Seriously do those morons go to see Lone Ranger and chant "Captain Sparrow"? Luckily it was just a small section of idiots trying to show off how cool and edgy they are by chanting the old names of a wrestler, it won't kill the gimmick just like its not what killed Tensai, it was debuting a fat white dude as some kind of Asian Wrestling Demon that killed him. But seriously f**k those guys, I don't give a crap if its their "right" or they bought tickets, f**k those guys and their lame tired ass chants I get annoyed when people call wrestlers by their indie or real names but this is a bit different. it's kind of insulting for the WWE to have a guy who was on WWE TV a few years ago return playing a different character and to expect people not to notice. If any other TV show did that it would be a laughing stock, WWE can't decide they want to be treated like a "proper" tv show when they want to be but not when it doesn't suit them. At least with Tensai and Curtis Axel they aknowledge their past without ever mentioning the names "Albert" and "Michael Mcgillicuty" which I think is the best compromise to repackage talent All it would take is for cole to mention "Wyatt used to wrestle here in WWE before he started acting really erratic and severed all communication with the world and moved to the middle of nowhere" or something and it would make a little more sense. People pay to go to a show and can chant what they want, it's WWE's job to manipulate the audience in to the reaction they are aiming for based on how they book the show, if fans are going against what WWE are aiming for then it is a failing on the WWE's part, not the audiences.

Increasingly feeling like we can't enjoy anything on this forum. When Bray walked out with the lantern, he got a decent pop, it was moody, it was cool. I don't care that he blew out what was clearly an electric light, my disbelief had been suspended.
Gawd, I wish I was a mark.

That was one of the coolest, most chilling entrances I've ever seen. I loved it. I really hated the Husky Harris chants but I'm sure they had to expect it. Whatever, I'm sure it'll fade away - at least I hope.

I guess there was one positive of having the name, "Michael McGillicutty". It has 7 syllables instead of 4. It's impossible to chant. I guess we did find out what ruined the Tensai gimmick. The fans.

I dunno, to be fair the various Law & Order incarnations have constantly done that. Hell, even Briscoe first showed up as a random one-off attorney.

Man Gerald Briscoe would be an awful attorney. Kissing the judge's ass at every opportunity..

What was up with Luke Harper's bald spot? I never noticed it before some of those overhead shots last night.
When the crowd started chanting "Husky Harris" I was waiting for Luke Harper to flip out and get up in someone's face in the front row and shout "I AM TRYING TO WORK HERE, SIT THE f*** DOWN!" like I saw him do both times I saw him at indy shows in 2010.

I really hate how it gets brought up in every thread and has become the go-to, generic, memetic insult. Don't have any idea how to insult a group but want to put them down anyway? Use "HIPSTER!!" like countless other members have in the past when they want to insult but half the time can't agree with a reasonable idea of what qualifies as a hipster in the first place!!! IT'S THE ALL-PURPOSE SCAPEGOAT!!! Now people who chant the "What" chants are hipsters--wrestling or otherwise? Really? What f***ing sense does that make? Audiences across the country who never need to have watched the show before can chant a common, one-syllable word that's been in semi-regular rotation on television since 2001 or 2002 or something, and that qualifies as hipster of some kind?

The Husky Harris thing made me roll my eyes, but you have to have a very thin skin if that ruined this for you.
1) The on-screen promo was great; an awesome introduction for the beginning of his career. 2) The entrance was great; that pop, the lantern, the music -- it was like he was walking in through a dark swamp. 3) Their first act in the WWE was beating the crap out of Kane.
#2 is the most important in all of this. When we look back at the debut of The Undertaker, it doesn't matter that the guy is obviously dressed up as a zombie, just like it doesn't matter that the lantern was electric (and I didn't even notice -- that's such a minute detail). It doesn't even matter that Taker was announced by Howard Finkel as "Cain," so it certainly won't matter that a bunch of random people who don't matter chanted "Husky Harris."

Love their theme song, love the entrance, really brutal looking beatdown from Rowan and Harper. Guessing that it leads to 3 on 2 at Summerslam with The Wyatt Family going up against Brothers of Destruction, but I could be wrong.
