RVD is friends with Hogan and Bischoff, hence why he came on shortly after Hulk and Eric came in. I'm sure the money was worth his while, as well. I've mentioned it before, but Hogan is on record as saying that he would have built a promotion around RVD. Thing is, if this is how TNA was sold to Van Dam, then when he got there he discovered the truth - that you're actually just one of a number of big fish in a very small pond, then it's understandable that he became jaded quickly. I'm not saying it's forgivable, simply understandable. I remember reading that if Bischoff had been sold WCW in 2001 that he would have built the promotion around RVD. I'm guessing Hogan and Bischoff wanted to build around RVD (and Hardy), but between them, Russo, Dixie, etc, it became too many people involved to get any type of cohesive plan together. Had the current writing team been there since 2010, I think TNA would have looked a lot different (and more organized).

TNA can't seem to build anything properly. They always try to set up long term angles only to see those angles flop or they lose interest or something stupid happens. You'd think once RVD won the title in TNA that TNA would build to RVD/Angle at a major PPV. Angle took himself out of the top 10 and wanted to work his way back up. He could have done that and gotten to RVD around the time of BFG 2010 if TNA had booked properly. But then they mismanaged RVD's dates, dropped the Angle top 10 storyline, and we ended up with a year of Immortal.
Same thing last year as well. TNA built up Roode/Storm, then jobbed Storm in his hometown, then tried in vain to set up a rematch for BFG, only to lose interest in the Roode title push and job him to Aries. I suppose the finally did Roode/Storm at BFG, but it meant less.

Where was this RVD hate when he was still with TNA? I know who were his regular detractors (myself included) and surprised at the amount of talk he was a prima donna slacker is coming from. I been saying that for years.
