On the bat flip talk.
You don't want someone to celebrate on you? Don't allow a home run. Basically all of the unwritten rules of baseball are idiotic.
Have fun when you do something awesome, because that is what sports should be.
You want a drill a guy for doing it? Fine I'll take a free baserunner.

So Tino Martinez was in a rage, because people won't pick up balls in the cage. msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/tino-martinez-resign-hitting-coach-miami-marlins-picking-up-balls-batting-cage-072913He sounds like he has anger issues. Why would he get mad at a player for getting help from the minor league hitting coach from your own organization, especially if it is a minor leaguer? I mean that's what the minor league coach's job is. A few weeks ago, way before this came out, when the Cardinals were playing the Marlins, the Cardinals announcers were talking about Tino when he played for the Cardinals and they sorta alluded to him not being a great guy, but they kinda cut off what they were saying before saying anything outright. It kinda confused me, but maybe they knew something that I didn't about Tino.

So it seems Jerry Meals strikes again with a blown call at home plate.

I guess the Red Sox have pulled me back in, because I'm still pissed about last night's game. I haven't allowed a regular season loss to linger like this since, I don't know, 2008 maybe? Also, there's this:

ESPN's Jerry Crasnick is "hearing buzz" about a possible three-way trade that would involve Jake Peavy going to the Diamondbacks and Ian Kennedy going to the Angels.

Rumor out there
Rodriguez is / was being offered- sit out the rest of this season and all of next season under the Joint Drug Agreement, waive appeal rights. ARod said no, Selig will ban for life under "Conduct Detrimental or Prejudicial to Baseball" provision, where Rodriguez will have no appeal rights. They trying to say that he influenced other players to visit Bosch and that's why they think they can ban him for life
And
bunch of players tied to BioGenesis have accepted a 50 game suspension where they are eligible for the postseason after being told that it would be a 100 game suspension if they didn't waive their appeal rights.

One of the few things Selig's done right IMO Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Mike Schmidt, and Willie Mays cheated (took greenies), Babe Ruth cheated (corked bats, and it's believed he injected himself with animal hormones), Gaylord Perry and Whitey Ford cheated (doctored the ball), Ty Cobb cheated (sharpened spikes on his cleats), and countless others in the Hall of Fame. They're in the Hall of Fame, meanwhile A-Rod is going to be banned for life? Why is A-Rod's cheating worse, and the cheating of those guys not bad? Bob Gibson admits there was cheating going on when he played, and admits he'd probably take steroids today. Baseball profited off of PEDs. Look at 1998, baseball reaped the benefits of PEDs, knew what was going on but didn't say a damn thing. It's not protecting the "integrity" of baseball, because the integrity of baseball went out the window a long time ago. Cheaters have always been around, cheaters have been celebrated, and cheaters are still around.

So Peavy is going to the Red Sox and Callaspo is going to the A's. Trade Fever: Catch it.

Iglesias seems to be the name floating around for Peavy.
EDIT: No Jackie Bradley Jr in the trade, Tigers also may be involved with Iglesias going to the Tigers

Cheaters have always been around, cheaters have been celebrated, and cheaters are still around. So because they've been around forever, they shouldn't be punished now when they're caught? A-Rod broke the rules, he gets what he deserves. And if cheaters are caught in the future, they should be punished. All that other shit is irrelevant.

Talk shit and taunt Matt Holliday, when you would have gotten the ball had you just turned around.
