Awesome theme. Shame the rest of him was so shit. I mean, his finisher was a freaking running dropkick! Shame he flopped so badly as well, he was in developmental for ages. I think possibly the longest ever. Either him or Heath Slater, and Slater is most definitely better.

Eric Escobar, the guy Tyler Reks remembers to feel better about himself.

Eric Escobar vs. Funaki was the dark match for the first Smackdown I ever went to.
I'll never be able to forget the man.

I remember him having a match with DH Smith in FCW where he won, but ended up looking like a chump because of how Smith dismantled his knee. Awesome theme. Shame the rest of him was so shit. Between his two runs he clocked up something like 8 years, someone ran the numbers a while back when I was a lurker.

I'm curious where Steve Bradey (or is it Bradley?) and Scott Vick fit into those numbers. They were from a different period, but they seemed to stay in development for years without ever being called up. I wasn't paying attention to WWE during Escobar's brief run, I only even learned about his existence about two weeks ago while reading Vickie's wikipedia page.

Turns out it was more like 7 by the time he was called up. officialfan.proboards.com/thread/401290/top-10-longest-developmental-tenures

I went to a Smackdown taping that he was at. That's all I remember of him.

I felt really bad for him, because he was in developmental for 4 years, did a ton of house shows and he ended up getting nothing.
And yeah, I didn't realize this old post I put there kinda said that. What's sad is Johnny Curtis/Fandango probably put even more time in developmental after I posted that.

I remember him having, like, 3 matches. All of them were won with a combination of Vickie distracting the ref and Eric doing something heelish (like an eye-rake) followed by a rollup.

Conner O'Brian is on quite the developmental run currently, between his two runs under contract.

He's in a better place now. Jobber heaven. Putting on classics with Braden Walker.

Escobarrr. (awkward pause) *vague Latin beat!*

Creepy douchebag vibes. Fed Vickie Guerrero mashed potatoes off his fingertip. Somehow got on a Bragging Rights team 'til WWE realized that team sucked and called an audible. Not actually much to remember.
