He mention it on Raw that he will be out 4-6 months and got boo'd through out. I know Cena isn't in most people's fave five but I will miss Chena's presence on the shows. Though he gets a well deserve break I still will miss the big lug.

You gotta use the John Cena injury timeframe conversion scale.
Out for awhile - Back next week
Out for 2-4 months - Back in two weeks.
Out for 4-6 months - Back in a month
Out for 6 months or more - Back in two months

Injured or not, right now is the perfect time for him to go away, as he would just get in the way of one of the hottest angles in a while right now.

I wish John Cena would be given more credit for that amazing performance last night. I used to hate the guy, but over the last few years, he's cemented himself in my mind as this incredible workhorse who puts on A-grade matches. That Bryan/Cena match was almost as good as Punk/Cena at MITB.
The truth is, he's always been able to be really good when he needs to be--especially as a pseudo-heel. That Rob Van Dam/Cena match from ONS 2006 was pure gold, too.

I hope he appears to Daniel Bryan via hologram to give him sage advice.

I really hope that when he returns, we see something ridiculous like him and Sheamus returning together as a tag team to respond to an open challenge for the titles or something.

Well deserved break. I hope he takes full advantage of it. They're survive until the Rumble or Elimination Chamber.
Crowd legit pissed me off when they cheered that announcement.

He gets crapped on now, but in twenty years or whatever, he will be seen as the Hogan of this generation and be beloved by everyone in the crowd.

All this said, I do wish they would tweak the Cena gimmick just a slight bit since we're clearly not getting a heel turn. Maybe they could give us some kind of new attire (and I don't mean another shirt) or let him lead a faction or just do something fresh.

I can't really blame them to be honest. It was rude as hell, but I think (I'd like to anyway) that the cheers were more about the idea of Bryan getting to be the man for the next 5 months. Cena took it on the chin as always though, he'll probably get an amazing pop when he does return.

He does deserve a much-needed break in terms of both his physical health (you gotta think he's worn out anyways being on the road seemingly non-stop) but also on-screen. It'll be interesting to see Raw without Cena headlining it for the next few months (I just wish it wasn't the McMahons headlining it either, but at least there's super-over Bryan). I mean, the last time where Cena wasn't in the Raw picture at all was 5 years ago at this time when he got the herniated disc. Even when he was "fired" he was still the biggest part of the show. Don't get me wrong, I respect the hell out of Cena, and he and Bryan had a fantastic match last night, but it'll be nice to see something different, at least for a little while.
Also, I'd just like to point out that the recovery period pegs Cena coming back right around the Royal Rumble. Just saying.

I may not be a fan of the character, but the man has been an absolute ironman for the better part of a decade. He needs to heal up so he can actually function later in life, what's more he deserves a vacation (even with physical therapy thrown in).

I read that they plan on actually letting Cena heal the full length of time this time so if that's the case then good for Cena.
