Wonder if it was something like that Undertaker was partially in the bag, lost, then got out and beat up Piper, stuffing him into a bag after the match. It's a strange one off. I heard about it on the Something to Wrestle podcast so I looked up when it happened. Bruce Prichard said Piper simply beat him because they wanted the crowd to go home happy by having the good guy win in the main event. Ah, okay. Makes sense. Live events can have some rather weird matches like that, like Bill Watts vs Mankind.

Daisuke Sekimoto torture racked Dory Funk Jr. this week.
Any of you remember masked man Super Uchu Power from DDT? He fought Rickson Gracie once. Lasted a minute or so.

Can anybody help me with a discovery? I'm looking around places for old wrestling results in my hometown and see one match that was interesting, yet easily forgettable to see after all these years. From the WWF, March 3rd, 1992: Ric Flair (c) vs. Roddy Piper (c). It's billed as title for title. Does anybody know what the typical result was? Obviously nobody pinned the other to win both, so that's why I'm asking. (And also strange I knew nothing of this happening. WCW did a better job promoting their live shows here which is why I saw quite a few of their shows and didn't go to a WWF event until WM13.) From the night before I found this result. WWF IC Champion Roddy Piper defeated WWF World Champion Ric Flair in a non-title steel cage match from Johnstown, PA - Cambria County War Memorial - March 2, 1992. Where I believe this pic was taken.

Wow, I remember this. The near double countout that HBK wins when Sherri tosses him back in just in time... This was in Kerry's very last days in the WWE. I barely remember him being there later in 92 (actually thought this match was earlier in the year); but he was out at the time of WM8 but came back and......did nothing, other than win jobber matches and lose to guys like Kamala and Martel. Was let go in August, and was dead 6 months later.

Apparently Kevin Von Erich teamed with Kerry for a few shows during Kerry's WWF run in the early 90's, although I've never been able to find video or photos of it. In the Fritz Von Erich biography "Master of the Iron Claw," Kevin says he wrestled with Kerry in Madison Square Garden where Kerry's foot came off during the match, which sounds to me like either a misquote or Kevin not letting the truth get in the way of a good story.

I watched an AJPW tag match: Jumbo Tsuruta & Giant Baba vs. Nick Bockwinkel & Pat O'Connor.
It was billed as some sort of match between champions. Tsuruta was the United National champion, Baba was some sort of PWF champion, Nick was AWA champion and Pat was a former NWA world champion.
I was dosing off near the end (I was tired, FAN) and I see some nut attacking the Japanese team. Stan Hansen beating the shit out of Jumbo, yet wanting no part of Baba.
Good stuff.

I think it's the latter as that's the first I've heard of this and I'm pretty sure it would have made the rounds as most of the MSG shows in the early 90's were on film or captured on fancam and it doesn't exist.

Fritz also had a dark match, facing the entire Jimmy Hart stable. They were no match for Fritz because he was wearing all-denim.

From what I recall, Steele considered himself a good promo, but stopped since Vince or Bruno, I forget which, felt he was more interesting as a more enigmatic figure.

Before Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels had their 60 Minute Iron Man Match at WrestleMania 12, Bret Hart had one against Owen Hart in July 1994 at the Nassau Coliseum. Here is a fan recording of that match. linkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZVNXGAU2XA

www.youtube.com/watch?v=5W6-C3qFMvsJapan's FMW Backdraft show from May 5/00, starting at 14:30 is a (clipped) tag match featuring Hideki Hosaka and Yoshinori Sasaki against the Samoan Gangsta Party, Eddie Fatu (aka. Umaga/Jamal) and "Matty Smalls" (aka. Matt Anoi'a/Rosey/Kimo).

HistoryofWWE doesn't mention Kevin making any wrestling appearances during Kerry's early '90s run other than 1 in Corpus Christi, TX on December 2, 1991, wrestling Brian Lee. And Kerry had only a couple MSG matches in that run himself, all of them being singles matches. I wouldn't be shocked if Kerry's foot "fell off" in his boot during a wrestling match - seems horribly awkward enough a thing to occur, especially to that cursed family - but it wasn't in a match with Kevin at MSG.

12/17/79: The same night Hulk Hogan had his MSG debut match against Ted DiBiase...
A Japanese (or N.A. if you read the title screen) title match between the champions, Seiji Sakaguchi & Riki "Chosyu" fought a team comprised of Jojo Andrews & "Bad News" Allen Coage.
Just funny seeing the future Bad News Allen dressed like the Godfather in white bowler hat and flashy vest. (And hair! The dude had hair!) Acted the same though. Still always yammering about something.
(Riki Choshu gets no love here. They rarely spell his name right. Here it's "Chosyu". In 1982, his name was "Cho-Chu". Dude...)

Here is a fan recording of the 1994 Royal Rumble, that wasn't on PPV. This one was from Madison Square Garden a week or two prior to the actual PPV. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CZ3Kbr93Ms

That's what it looked like because the refs didn't do anything about it. Also wasn't expecting to see Scott Putski in this match.

That time Randy Savage teamed up with Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles (sort of, though. Randy was "kidnapped" in the beginning...) against Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Jeff Jarrett on a TNA PPV. And it would sadly be Randy's last appearance in a wrestling ring. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL-3mH7OHWk
