^Haven't seen it yet, but it was one of those suggested to me. I might take a look at it; I've seen the pictures in a magazine when it happened.
Montreal WWF had their own little world.

I was a ring boy for this show. Essentially, security. What was the video? Owen VS Raymond? There wasn't anything that special about the card that I remember. FLI's Carl Leduc beat Bradshaw. Because, Montreal. Maybe I could find myself in the video if it was still up. I was in the crowd for Survivor Series 1997. Wish I was ring boy again, talk about living an historical moment. In 1998, I was there for a show that had Jacques/Raymond/PCO VS Copeland/Reso/Stasiak as a dark match. So yeah, Edge & Christian VS the combined forces of the Fabulous Rougeaus and The Quebecers, totally happened.

The video was like three hours long so it was definitely more than just the boxing match. I only skimmed through it real quick with the intention to watch the whole thing later on (as I said, never got the chance). I remember seeing Shawn vs. Vader, Taker vs. Mankind, Mero vs. HHH, Austin vs. Vega. You know, your basic WWF Summer of 96 greatest hits collection.

Was there an explanation why he came out of retirement to do such a thing?

Was there an explanation why he came out of retirement to do such a thing? Because his sister Joane was the local promoter and he wanted to help her draw a house, plus he worked for them as an announcer. Basically.

Flipped on an MSG show from December 1977 and saw Captain Lou Albano in a match against Arnold Skaaland.
If you've never seen it, I recommend you don't.
Shit, Baron Scicluna vs. SD Jones in the opener was like Flair/Windham compared to that crime against humanity.

Awkward AWA TV promo: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcp1HOLsKpoAt 12:48 Donna Gagne interviews some Minnesota baseball dude. I guess he's "playing" heel as he craps on Verne Gagne several times. Donna then suggests a nickname for him and he dumps on that idea too, pointing out that it's been done. When I first saw this years ago while reviewing the weekly TV from the era, I was left flabbergasted that this made TV.

I was surprised to stumble upon this card. Shawn and Marty were only in their 4th or 5th month in the AWA and not yet headlining, but here Shawn is fighting the World champ. Any details how this came about?

How about when a jobber dominates a match against a champion and the champion barely squeaks out a win?
On an episode of WCW Main Event, a special 90 minute one no less, Mike Wenner dominates Regal for 70% of the match and the only time Regal got any offense in was when either Sir William interfered or when Regal threw Wenner into the turnbuckle and won the match with his Regal Roll.
