How about when a jobber dominates a match against a champion and the champion barely squeaks out a win? On an episode of WCW Main Event, a special 90 minute one no less, Mike Wenner dominates Regal for 70% of the match and the only time Regal got any offense in was when either Sir William interfered or when Regal threw Wenner into the turnbuckle and won the match with his Regal Roll. Wenner almost became a Winner

I was surprised to stumble upon this card. Shawn and Marty were only in their 4th or 5th month in the AWA and not yet headlining, but here Shawn is fighting the World champ. Any details how this came about? No real help coming, but man I love spelling errors on those posters lol Monty Jannetty was bound to be a star! Cheri Martel and Brand?! There's a huge amount of alarmingly bad typos, but somehow they got Larry Zbyszko's name right.

WCW in general were much more hands off with in-ring action than WWE. Also, Regal even then was a ring general and decided a lot of the time how a match would play out (aside from the finishes of course. His match with Goldberg is probably the most well known example of this. My guess is that Regal saw something in Wenner and wanted to give him a rub.

Since the title is "That happened": I just saw the tag match between Victor Rivera/Spiros Arion vs. Peter Maivia/Bob Backlund from their TV show in 1978. Was a decent match. Peter & Bob did a lot of quick tags until Bob did the atomic spinecrusher on Spiros. Victor came in for the save, and Bob tagged out. Then Peter would do a move and tag Bob, who started getting beat up more. Hot tag, Maivia does a simple move, tags a worn-out Bob. Arnold Skaaland would yell at Peter to help his guy. Peter had enough and just started beating the shit out of Arnold. The heels would hold Backlund and make him watch. Finally the midcarders stormed the ring. (Dominic Denucci, Dino Bravo, Tony Garea.) Vince gets a word with Bob. "WHAT HAPPENED?!!"...and "WHAT HAPPENED?!!" Um, oh, then he yelled "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!!" Yeah, again he said "WHAT HAPPENED?!!" Finally he says something different, "I'M GONNA KILL THAT SONUVABITCH!" (Edited for TV.) Vince looked distraught. (Even in his book, Bob was like "Oops.") So, Bob, "THAT happened."

This line from Scott Hudson: Stupid Wrestling Commentary Line #58327: "Road Wild could be a 7-8 hour long Pay Per View. Hogan and Nash can go all night long!" (WCW Saturday Night 7/17/1999)

It's spliced together from a jobber match Taker had. That's not Sting.

WWF - August 2, 1986. Rosemont Horizon. Brickhouse Brown defeats Steve Lombardi in the opener.
Anybody have info on this, meaning was BHB considering going there? First I ever heard of this.

I believe he mentioned it in his Brickhouse TV shoot series on Highspots. Probably his regular shoot interview also.

Bobby Heenan spoke several times about being the broadcaster for a Mexican midget battle royal in WCW where Bischoff banned him from cracking jokes. WCW did run a Minis tag match on Nitro, but no battle royal that I am aware of. Anyone have a clue?
