This whole crap with the evil bosses. Yes, heels are supposed to make you boo them, but heels (wrestlers in general) are supposed to make you want to watch the next episode or buy the next PPV. Well, I don't want to do that. For the first time in over 20 years of watching wrestling, I don't want to watch WWE. This angle makes me mad just thinking about it. It's not compelling at all, not entertaining at all, and it's a little stupid. Not only that, it's completely one-sided, there's nothing for the faces to hang their hat on. Why should there be any hope that they'll win in the end? There's nothing, absolutely nothing, to indicate that. IT'll work out in time, No for reals, For really reals, Ignore all the other times when it didn't, cuz this time it will.

I'm really enjoying this storyline so far, i think its well booked and all the heels come as as legit, unredeeming assholes with triple H essentially becoming Mr. McMahon with his sanity intact. Plus I get to see Bryan get his ass kicked every week. So there's that.

I just can't see why HHH can't take an ass beating just one week. Surely logic dictates that it won't get someone fired as beating up Vince was a regular thing way back when.
The only way this can pay off, is if Bryan gets one over on all of them at NoC.
Let's say Bryan wins the title that night. The way this storyline is panning out, HHH will simply strip him of the title the next night and hand it back to Orton.

This storyline is a mix of the Attitudal evil boss and the classic 1980's southern-style sack of shit heel.
I think Triple H is trying to re-establish the old school dynamic for heels and do away with cool heels that people can cheer.
Because there is no way you can cheer the Corporation. There's nothing cool or funny about them. Even the original Corporation had comic relief.
This is working good for me anyways. Maybe it's because I enjoyed that old timey NWA wrestling but yeah, I see what they're doing and I really want someone to kick their ass.

Wrestling doesn't do real underdogs often. Usually, the faces show they can pretty much kick anyone's ass and the heels just slink away or have to resort to shenanigans to not look awful. We're used to faces like Stone Cold and Cena, the latter of whom in particular got called an underdog when it was laughable.
So it's jarring when they do a story with an honest to god underdog that doesn't look like he can win.

@op : You really aren't being fair to the writers. HHH has been the "good boss" for several years now as the onscreen COO of WWE. He raised face-Seth Rollins hand when first winning the NXT Championship (and Paige's too for the Women's version), Trips fired his good buddy Kevin Nash wayyy back in 2011 while still holding the same job title he has now.
HHH has only been a heel for 3 weeks, versus the previous years where he's been the fan favorite. How can the WWE offer you anything that's "compelling" and new when you won't even give them till the next PPV to see where the (brand) new angle leads?
There's also the precedent established that one time when literally the entire RAW cast walked out on face-HHH when he was (again) still the COO of the WWE. So now HHH realizes that in order to get these idiots' respect he has to threaten to fire them like a boss boss. It's completely not out of left field in terms of continuity, and I'm a little tired of seeing threads/posts that claim otherwise without much in the way of facts to support them. It's fine if you want to share your opinion on not liking a storyline, but declaring this the "worst storyline ever" and making bold critical claims without any backing evidence makes nobody take your comments seriously. Food for thought.

Not even close. Big Show element aside, they've done exactly what they've needed to do here.

I'm a big supporter of this angle, but that said, I think 3 weeks is just about as long as we can go without Bryan getting some form of victory.
So I think they have to give at least a minor bit of payoff next week or it'll lose steam a bit.

From what I posted in the Raw thread:
Like others mentioned, this was the first week I really began to get worried that the WWE might screw this up. Bryan came off very poorly, essentially being treated like a joke in trying to beat the Big Show. Show's melodrama was absolutely terrible and hurt the segment a lot.
That said, I do enjoy the bits with Cody and Ziggler. Both played out well, showing that HHH really will fire people for little to no reason (Cody) and will go after anyone who speaks out against him (Ziggler).
The important thing now, especially with Show being forcibly made to be an enforcer for the Coorperation, is that faces come out on top occasionally. Raw and Smackdown can't keep ending with Bryan face down on the mat while Orton poses over him. The heels have to start taking some losses or this whole thing is going to fall flat on its face.

I want Bryan to be left laying for another four weeks. Make this angle as bleak as possible and have Bryan still clinging to the job he loves so much. He never breaks, he only gets stronger.

Why are they Dolph Zigglering Daniel Bryan It feels more like they're "Booker T"-ing him with all the "Good little technician", "Cruiserweight Title", etc. comments.

I worry about them having Bryan get laid out too much. If it happens over and over and over it's going to make fans stop believing in him.
I do think eventually there will be a strong babyface faction that keeps this all in check, if it's done right it will be worth the wait.
The stuff with Big Show tonight was really bad. It's like Oscar Bait, they think he's so incredible at selling anguish and inner conflict that they abuse it, so he's coming off like this blubbering emotional wreck. He shouldn't have been so upset about wrestling Bryan, and the match shouldn't have been booked to make Bryan look like a little squirt without a fighting chance, while Show felt so bad about what he was doing to his little friend. Horribly booked. But that's Show for ya.

This just seems like the right storyline at the wrong time. Fans have become impatient because of poor payoffs of the past and faith and goodwill they might have had just isn't there.
