I like this story. People hhhate is back lol.
HHH is a great wrestler. A great talent. Knows what is great for business.
Bow down to the king.
People always expecting faces to win get jaded when the faces lose. Hilarious

Everyone on where? Other than myself I've only seen three or four people call him "Hunner" on a regular basis. Unless you mean everyone on WWE programming. Hardly anyone calls him "Hunter." I always thought it was more of a dig at Beth Phoenix than Triple H myself. a funny one. Presumably by the same bunch of hearing impaired idiots that spread the stupid bathturd meme

Watching more of this, I try to picture Trips, as good as he is at drawing heat, doing the things that the great heels used to. Flair begging off and getting his ass kicked, only to be saved via a run-in. Piper running his mouth, having the ability to back it up, yet getting stomped by the babyface in the end. They could "look weak" for the moment, but it was their ability to, honestly, be in denial as characters that let them maintain their heat. Punk in the height of his heel run with SES pretty much never won, but he was an absolute heat magnate. Trips just doesn't show weakness. Sure, he might send lackies, but we all know if he throws a punch, it's going to be "better than everyone else's", if he hits his finish, it's death. THIS, is the problem. You've got a guy who is as much a student of wrestling's history as anyone else, who understands how the heels got their heat for decades, yet he can't or won't allow himself to be in that situation, at least not with people who aren't either established or hand picked. He said in the Grantland interview about people saying "I don't want to work with that guy" and how hard it made things, but how many guys has he worked with as a heel and come out the way that Flair or Piper used to? Still hated, but vanquished convincingly. I'll give you Batista, and I'll give you Cena even though he was the de-facto face in that situation. Give me two and I'll admit I was wrong. Man... That touches on something else I really hate about this feud. As much as I'll defend the overall booking, it will always drive me up a damned wall that Hunner doesn't know how to "bury" people. This dude swears by Flair and shit, but Flair had a way of talking shit about other guys without throwing dirt on their babyface fire. Dude, I'm hearing that on Smackdown last week Hunner was talking about how Dolph Ziggler was "too small" and how Miz would never get another title run because he's "all talk." Bruh, why would you say that shit?! That's too on-the-nose. Just say the fact they give their negative opinions when not asked, means they aren't "team players" or some other corporate speak and stop trying to gut-punch faces. It's like he gets the point he's got to be a condescending asshole, but he still doesn't get he shouldn't do that at the expense of someone else's heat. Ric Flair would make fun of Dusty's upbringing. It was something Dusty was always proud of, it made Flair look like a prick but also helped put over Dusty as a blue-collar guy as he was never ashamed of where he came from. Ric Flair would talk shit about how Magnum TA was a skinny runt who dressed horribly and couldn't get the ladies. Back in those days, you'd have to be crazy to believe that considering how Magnum looked and how he was booked. It still made Flair look like a prick, but Flair always said wackytown shit like that. Hunner probably would've said Dusty was an out-of-shape loser who couldn't dance or that Magnum TA belonged more in 70's porn. I think you hit the nail on the head as to why I don't like HHH. I get it that he likes the NWA booking...I do too. Like you said, Flair had a way of insulting his opponents that make you can see he's full of shit. The way HHH does it comes off more like his true feelings, if it is or not I don't know. Like he can't let the guy opposing him look like he got the better of HHH verbally.

One criticism I have is all this "troll" stuff. That does nothing to help Daniel Bryan and makes him sound foolish. Of course it would help if he didn't have a beard that makes him look like some kind of creature who lives under a bridge and eats billy-goats, but alas. Insults towards Daniel Bryan should be more like "he represents chaos and anarchy" or "the last time we had a guy like him, it was Stone Cold Steve Austin and he caused chaos". They convey corporate fear, but also make Daniel Bryan look cool

Punk's got no issues dealing with Hunner's mic shit. I dread DBD being on a mic opposite of Hunner.

Part of the problem is that HHH doesn't have a character when he's not in dX (and when he's in dX, his character is someone who says True Stuff that no one else can say). Flair was a new-money jerk. He insulted the faces because he was intoxicated by his fame and money and ego. Vince insults the faces (mostly) because he's regressive and can't put fairness above his own peevishness. But HHH? What the hell is he? Why would he insult people? Without that context, then it DOES seem like real-life namecalling. HHH also ain't that good on the mic and never was. Before he bulked up, he was the best wrestler in the company and that's why he rose. It was never mic skills.

You'd have Punk cutting scathing and kickass promos on H (and clobbering fools along the way) and DB wrecking shit.

Eventually Punk will join Daniel Bryan. His feud with Heyman can be transferred over to this angle if Heyman starts sucking up to the Corporation. That could be a route for Brock to return too, as a pro-Corporate guy.

SmackDown might've ended with Orton standing tall, but at least Bryan beat the shit out of The Shield, and we didn't have H join in or anything.

They should keep beating him down, until around Survivor Series, when Punk and Dolph finally clearly declare their support for Daniel Bryan. HHH will threaten them, but they can say "you can fire us, but if you do, we are going to bring this company to a grinding halt". They'll threaten to do run-ins from the crowd if they are fired. HHH calls their bluff and sacks them. A week later, they make good on their threats. They attack SHIELD, they disrupt Orton's matches, they trash the ringside area and concession stands, they shut down power to the arena etc....until eventually HHH agrees to reinstate them. They also demand that Cody is re-hired too, and HHH agrees. HHH will say that having them back in the WWE can at least keep them contained. They beg to differ.

Ziggler, miz, and big show make no sense as anti-establishment people. Miz was the poster boy for wwe. Thr criticisms hhh lays on dbry are the same ones miz said.
If they want somebody to speak out it has to be jericho. He is the one guy.

I always thought it was more of a dig at Beth Phoenix than Triple H myself. a funny one. Presumably by the same bunch of hearing impaired idiots that spread the stupid bathturd meme I'm from Philadelphia, where the local accent makes it very common for "NT" to come out as "NN". Unless I was watching myself, me saying "Hunter" would sound like I said "Hunner" to most people. And obviously several WWE stars have similar accents.

I come from Yorkshire, where a solid t sound is usually replaced with a brief pause, and it sounds more like Hunh-er, but even I could hear the T that Beth pronounced in that "infamous" line.
