Two tag titles were successfully defended on the second half of the Taiwan double header today. TenKoji held onto their recently won NWA World Tag Team Titles, overcoming Rob Conway & Jax Dane when Tenzan used the Anaconda Vice on Dane, who with that also avenged his singles loss to Dane yesterday. And the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows, made a successful V3 defense of the titles in a hurriedly arranged title match against Hirooki Goto & Captain Taiwan, with Gallows pinning Captain after he & Anderson used the Magic Killer.
Also on the show, Forever Hooligans(Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov) beat legends Jushin Thunder Liger & Tiger Mask in a #1 contenders match to become the next challengers for The Young Bucks' IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Titles.

Michael Tarver. Big Daddy Yum Yum. Wes Brisco.
I know Japanese promotions are huge marks for the NWA and its titles but can someone stateside defeat Kojima so NJPW stop being tainted by this j-brones? If TNA ever fired/released Garett Bischoff, I sense he will be making his NJPW debut.

I have to think that NWA doesn't send Kahagas in fear that the fans would tear him apart for his gimmick.

I have to think that NWA doesn't send Kahagas in fear that the fans would tear him apart for his gimmick. Naw, there are wrestlers in Japan who does similar gimmicks. Eventually, he'll get a turn since the NWA keep sending their brightest and finest talent against Kojima to win back the title.

May 10th sounds like a typical New Japan house show, plus the title match.
May 17th is way better, although I'm still not crazy about Liger being the contender for the ROH Title. Also strangely excited for Shinsuke vs. Steen/Cole (assuming it'll be Steen).

Everybody at some point in their lives needs to party with Japanese people. I saw an underground punk band who kicked ass, drunk habu sake, and witness a real life drunken martial arts street fight while hanging out with Japanese friends.

AJ Styles is the new IWGP Heavyweight Champion after Yujiro Takahashi turned on Kazuchika Okada and joined the Bullet Club. NO WORDS.

That swerve was amazing. They built up Yujiro leaving CHAOS but did it in a way that way totally unexpected

Yujiro was being ridiculously underused. Loved that turn.

Holy shit!
Good for AJ as well! The grass was greener on the other side it seemed. The guy deserved this after all he has gone through this past year, and could do great things with the belt. At least now he will be used right and appreciated in NJPW, moving into this stage of his career
Okada was a truly great champion though, from the matches I have seen

Wow. One man's trash is another man's treasure. That's the second time TNA didn't want someone and they became the IWGP Champion. That's pretty big, and that will be pretty big with ROH coming up, considering one of their guys is the IWGP Champion.

I wouldn't necessarily say TNA "didn't want" Styles - they offered him way less money to stay, and Styles for his position was right to turn them down.
