Question about the J Cup...do they consider the Super J cup as part of the lineage? The Super J Cup tournament has been hosted by different promotions its lineage is separate from other tournaments. I'm not even sure what you mean by J Cup. Are you talking about the J Crown tournament when they unified the eight championships?

The New Japan Cup and Super J Cup are unrelated. To expand, the Super J Cup was a tournament for the junior heavyweights. The New Japan Cup, while a few junior heavyweights have competed in it, is mostly for heavyweights.

The New Japan Cup, while a few junior heavyweights have competed in it, is mostly for heavyweights. Also the Super J Cup doesn't have a fixed host (New Japan hosted it twice, WAR, M-Pro and Osaka Pro once each) and it involved wrestlers from various organizations. The New Japan Cup is a clear New Japan tournament with New Japan contracted wrestlers and filliated free agents.

anyone with me in Shibata train for NJ cup? I'm leaning towards Ibushi winning the tournament and taking the IC title from Nakamura.

Same here with Ibushi winning and challenging Nakamura at Invasion Attack. My predictions for the 1st round which will be airing on New Japan World tomorrow.
Tanahashi over Yano. Ibushi over Gallows. Naito over Anderson Fale over Okada. Honma over Makabe Takahashi over Yoshi Goto over Nagata and Shibata over Kojima.

Shibata Vs styles would be insane. Has this happened yet? I haven't watched G1 last year in full or paid attention to the brackets but I don't think they were in the same block.

Never happened before. They have crossed path in 2-3 tag matches. Nakamura and Styles though never even crossed paths in tags. Make me think they have a money match in their hands if one of them loses the title

I'd bet money that Styles will be facing Shibata and Nakamura in this years' G1 barring anything strange happening.

{Spoiler}Aside from the last two years, Yano always had a singles win against Tanahashi and both just went along just fine. Chill, by the love of all that is wrestling

Fale beating Okada is the ugh. Just ugh.

It will be like 1-2-3 done
