I'm still standing by my theory that Simmons is a Space Phantom. The real Simmons is partying on the Milano with Rocket and Groot taking the slow way back to Earth. It's a Whedon show, so I'm half expecting her to be this season's surprise casualty.

Here's my question, how does Lance plan to just slip in to HYDRA? I mean, he hasn't exactly been working behind the scenes. Hell, the entire B-plot of the last season finale was Ward and Agent 33 planning to use Mockingbird to kill him. Are we supposed to believe no one in HYDRA has ever seen his face?

Powers Boothe will have a recurring role as Gideon Malick. It's the same World Security Council character he played in the first Avengers film. He's described as menacing and cold, someone Ward would fear. He might oversee Rosalind's operation.

I thought Alexander Pierce killed all of the World Security Council members with those booby-trapped tags, save for the woman Black Widow impersonated.

He only killed, from a MCU wiki, Yen, Singh and Rockwell. Jenny Agutter's character's status was never said, but assumed she's alive since it was Black Widow who impersonated her and not HYDRA. Boothe's character hasn't been seen since Avengers.

Well, I guess I got the answer to that question. Really curious as to what Simmons needs to go back for. I already know next week is gonna be a doozy.

{Spoiler}I don't think Andrew is dead. Kid Strucker wouldn't have looked frazzled as hell if it was a simple kill and run mission. Something's up.

Jemma Simmons: Last Woman on the Moon has serious potential.

I heard that rumor floated a couple of other places. {Spoiler}Certainly wouldn't be the weirdest thing I've ever heard. Would explain his general mistrust of sending Inhumans out on missions, as well as the abrupt break-up with May. Would also explain why he seems to have intentionally let Quake go.
It'd be a helluva twist, though.

What a fantastic episode tonight. I think it might be my favourite episode of the series. I don't read a lot of Marvel so I wouldn't be too sure but lot a people are thinking that the planet is {Spoiler}Ego

Quite possibly the most experimental episode the show has done (to the point that the title card was different and we had no "previously" segment), and it was great. Every minute of it.

The Canadian ad for next week's show opened with a voiceover saying... {Spoiler}"With her ex dead, Agent May returns..." So take that for what it's worth.

Idea: Will purposefully wiffed the target so he can stay with Jemma. Darker speculation: The It/Death thing killed Will and assumed his form.

Wild speculation time! {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The thing is Wraith from Annihilation: Conquest.
Their planet background sounds like his origin story, the imagery used was evocative toward that character.
The guy is filled with parasites that steal souls (source of the madness) that create darkness when they leave his body in clouds. He can teleport, and his weapon changes forms.
