The thing that irks me is when a finisher turns into a setup move, especially when that setup move looks more devastating.. This is what bugs me to no end about Ryback. Practically every move in his repertoire looks more devastating than his finisher. It'd be like giving Brock Lesnar a drop toe hold as a finish.

A lot of people have said this, but I really think his samoan drop looks pretty powerful (mostly because he stiffs the hell out of people with it, heh). At least it did with his marching walk, he really stiffed people with it then. Not so much his heel version which is a more ordinary samoan drop not just because of the lack of marching but the force he delivers it.

I'm surprised I didn't hear more of this about Umaga(RIP).... nearly every move he did except for the Samoan Spike could have been used as a finisher

I believe once on an episode of SmackDown, I want to say last year, Cena beat Del Rio after hitting a top-rope Fameasser.

I can't place the match, but RVD won one on the split-legged moonsault On his old DVD he mentions that that was his finisher before going to ECW, where he figured that he needed a more impactful finisher.

That one episode of Raw where there was a Randy Orton/Kelly Kelly/Kane storyline, Orton pinned Kane after countering Kane's Diving Clothesline with a Dropkick. And either this year or last year when Punk pinned Swagger with the Macho Man Elbow Drop because of a botch. Goldust has picked up wins with a powerslam over the years. If I'm remembering correctly, for a while after he got electrocuted by Evolution, he started using that as his finisher and they called it the "Shock Treatment".

With Ryback, we've seen the Samoan drop thousands of times, and it's always used a transitional move.

Samoan drops occasionally get pins with big guys. but the way he does it kind of crosses it with an Angle Slam which can be a finish
