Outside of one really bad pitch that resulted in a 3 run bomb, Tanaka pitched pretty well today. Shame Shawn Kelley couldn't keep the O's from scoring two more in the 9th.

9pm and it's the bottom of the 6th? Game moving much faster than usual.

The first two batters in the White Sox order are Adam Eaton and Marcus Semien. This is how the box score looks.
Eaton Semien

Man, Pineda's been awesome so far. Though I wonder what that black crap on his hand was.

Pineda not even trying to hide the pine tar. Ortiz apparently answered reporters about it by saying "Everybody uses pine tar, no big deal".
Wait a minute...the Mets actually won a series at Turner Field?! And the bullpen didn't allow a run?!?
God, the Mets have a tough April schedule, what I'd give for them to be .500 or so come May 1.

Whatever the Rock says?) Laugh all you want, after what started out like the "same ol' same ol' " type of game against the Indians, the White Sox came back and won 7-3. Jose Abreu? His 2nd multi-HR game in 3 days. Not-so-fun fact: This is the first Sox win against Cleveland since April 24th. They broke a 14-game losing streak, and were 2-17 against them last season.

Jose Fernandez was knocked around for a career-high six earned runs over four-plus innings in a loss to the Phillies on Friday.

How sad is it that Allen Craig being hit by a pitch was the best case scenario?

Madison Bumgarner just smoked a grandslam to give Los Gigantes a 3 run lead. Grandslam from a pitcher holy shit!!!

Matt Holliday just needs to stop swinging at stupid pitches. He's swinging at too many pitches outside the strikezone and the other day he was swinging on a 3-0 count. Just get on base man!

He always does this early on in the season. Wait until June/July and then he'll remember what plate patience is. Or right now, even!

Continuing on my with "replay in baseball is exceedingly stupid" argument, I present to you a play in today's Red Sox vs. Yankees game. Replay confirmed that he was safe.

Even the YES guys were like "Yeah he was out. What feed were they getting?"
MLB said "The call was wrong but there was no conclusive evidence to overturn it." Uh, ok. Not that it lead to any runs by the Yanks and the Red Sox had already lost the game by that point, but it was still dumb.

I think they're deliberately getting the calls wrong in protest of the replay system. That has to be the only explanation.
