And now there's a #BringBackBrian trend on Twitter. Yeah, as ballsy as this move was, it's gonna piss a lot of people off. Not shocked by this. When I first herd he got killed off, I thought "ok they have nothing more for him and they are getting rid of him." But now with Vinny they have replaced him. Vinny might stand his own and might be a good character, but he will be shadowed by the fact that he's not Brian. It's Game Grumps all over again. I don't know...I don't think I'll quickly acclimate to the new character and when I watch the old episodes wonder why the heck I ever enjoyed Brian, even going so far as to unsubscribe to his now completely unrelated project because he's just not as talented or as interesting as his replacement.... That might have veered into my personal opinions of JonTron at some point. {Spoiler}Spoiler And that point was almost immediately.

After watching the episode, I get the feeling it's not going to last. I might be wrong, but it's my gut feeling that he'll be back sooner rather than later.

I hope he's back, I'm seriously bummed he didn't come back at the end. Stewie and Brian episodes were by far my favorite.

Meh I'm sure they will find a way to bring him back after a season or two.

Missed it due to distraction via Boardwalk Empire {Spoiler}RIP Richard Harrow but I'll have to catch it. Gonna miss the little self-righeous untalented fuzzball. Hiya, sorry but do you mind clarifying your spoiler tag net time? I'd assumed you were discussing Family Guy and not my current favourite TV Show, Boardwalk under that tag. Now I've been spoiled over what I assume is the big shock of the finale, which I was insanely hyped to watch tonight.

Jeez. A little harsh, don't you think? Considering this show grapples subtlety the way a racist sumo wrestler would manhandle a African-American midget with cancer, that's not very shocking. What was shocking was that they actually stuck to it, didn't use the easy out (the time machine Stewie just wrecked), actually had Stewie and the family move on by episode's end, and then ended with no cheap hint or a last second return.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'm not sure that Brian is truly gone. There are at least a couple upcoming episodes with his name in it (unless they were put there as fake outs). link

Our chocolate lab died of cancer back in January this year. He was 11 years old. Family Guy was in it's third season when we got him. Losing a dog is exactly like losing a family member or a close friend. One of the things I even said to myself to feel better about was "At least I still have Brian on Family Guy!". Watching this episode made me think about our dog. I almost cried when they showed Brian saying goodbye. It reminded me a lot of when we all around our dog as he was being put to sleep. I liked Brian, so I'll definitely miss him. Some people I'm sure are sure are glad he's gone because they're still mad about the political episodes, but that was only in season 7 and they toned that way down after that. There were plenty of moments that showed Brian cared about the Griffins, especially Peter and Stewie. All the Road to episodes were fun. And I don't know why people doubt this was permanent. If they don't push the reset button at the end, that means they're not coming back. Have Diane Simmons, Jillian's boyfriend, Muriel Goldman come back? Or the Vaudeville Duo and Paddy? Yeah, I think they meant what they said. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I'm not sure that Brian is truly gone. There are at least a couple upcoming episodes with his name in it (unless they were put there as fake outs). linkThat just means this episode was aired out of production order.

I have a feeling that this is like Superior Spider-Man, it looks like the status quo has been forever changed, with no going back, but you know it won't be. Just an interesting twist.
Funny thing about the Vaudeville Guys...I have a friend who swore he'd never watch the show again and hated Stewie forever because he killed them off.

I don't know if anyone else notices but Brian die the same way that Human Brain die in Road to the Multiverse.

As much as I don't like Family Guy, this was a lot more ballsy to kill of a main character than some guy named "Chip Davis". And, Brian, of all characters, was the one killed. I honestly thought it'd be Meg, considering they have her as the show's punching bag.
Just shows you that Family Guy, in spite of its problems, doesn't worship status quo like Al Jean.

When the car turned the corner, I had the exact same reaction Stewie had... And I already hate Vinny.

I'm pretty sure that, with Marcia Wallace's death, they might be considering averting it, even if she wasn't the character they had in mind.

and Brian doesn't believe in God(even though he met Jesus) so if Heaven is real does that mean he's in hell right now?

If they ever reverse course, Seth already has his schmaltzy song he can use. Wrong fuzzy Brian.
