I told you guys I was gonna rig this thing. I couldn't figure out how to make Eva Marie win (I just started hacking 101) so I had the Bellas win.
TEAM TOTAL DIVAS FOREVER~!

I don't see any real reason to get bent out of shape over this. How many people remember who won what Slammy after about a month or two? Besides, AJ already won Diva of the Year last year, and I had to look that up.

The Slammy's really only matter if the person decides to make it a big deal like Owen Hart.

I laugh so hard when people actually think the Slammys and other stuff are fan voted.

I don't see any real reason to get bent out of shape over this. How many people remember who won what Slammy after about a month or two? Besides, AJ already won Diva of the Year last year, and I had to look that up. The problem was A) They asked for votes and I find it very unlikely that the bellas won the poll when AJ's been the most over diva and selling a sh** ton of merchandise. It will be like Alberto Del Rio winning this years superstar of the year. It's not rewarding who truly earned it. B)It's a kayfabe award and the bellas did nothing in kayfabe to earn it. They weren't diva's champ and failed on multiple occasion to win it. The problem is if the WWE truly wants us to believe that our votes matter, then they will show us the true vote total and see who win. I think there was a small chance that Bellas could have won the poll fairly and I find that to be wrong. It's just like the MVP trophy's in other sports. I want the person who did the best to get it.

I don't really get the AJ hype. To me, a character is only as good as his/her foil is pushing him/her to be. Where is AJ's foil? This doesn't really apply in the world of pro wrestling, since it's so different than other forms of writing. For every Flair/Steamboat, Hogan/Savage, Punk/Raven, or countless other compelling feuds, you have a Rock/Goldberg or Taker/Heidenreich where a compelling, interesting, well-booked character has to carry a total stiff. Taker isn't suddenly uninteresting or overhyped because of his feud with Giant Gonzales, right? So then you have the Divas division where there's rarely even any interesting booking, to say nothing of interesting characters, and you can see why your statement doesn't really apply. I mean your comment does work when applied to most other writing-based mediums, but wrestling is a whole different story. AJ is so hyped for five main reasons. 1) She has charisma/mic skills and plays her character well, 2) she's generally good in-ring, 3) she's a lifelong WWE fan getting to live her dream, 4) she's attractive, and 5) she has a relatable personality.

Kaityln is her foil, but since we ran through that feud alright and they don't want to call up any NXT girls we're left with the Total Divas. And I think that Divas like AJ, Summer Rae, Kaitlyn, and anyone who comes up through NXT has a different style (in ring and mic wise) compared to the girls on the roster now, who've never had mic time outside of "Oh heeeey INSERT CELEBRETY THAT WWE WANTS TO GIVE THEM PUBLICITY FOR HERE" and bitchy face/smiley face Johhny Ace school of Divas wrestlng. And the two styles just don't match...at all.

WWE didn't want AJ to get another tattoo. Couldn't let this mark get too big for her britches.

It's not really as much of a rage over AJ Lee getting snubbed as it is a blatant disregard for what the fanbase actually wants when they are supposedly having our votes counted.
The Divas one was the first one where this was readily apparent, and had it been say Match of the Year first, it would have been the most noticed one.

It could have been worse- they could have given the win to Eva Marie.

It could have been worse- they could have given the win to Eva Marie. Eva Marie would have been hilarious because it's the obvious extreme here where she is so far under everyone else that was up. The Bellas, on the other hand, are clearly less deserving than AJ, but it doesn't go that far to where you can get that trainwreck entertainment out of it.

It wasn't a surprise. WWE have been pushing the narrative that the Bellas are the popular faces for months. It's completely incompatible with reality, but it's classic shoehorned booking.

It sucks, but the Total Divas era is upon us. Talent takes a backseat to being on a "hit" reality show and dating the top star in WWE.
