Although AJ definitely deserved the award, I wasn't surprised that she lost. I wouldn't go as far to say that there's been a backlash against her, but I have noticed a bit of a cooling off of her on TV. Maybe people are just bored with the fact that she's run through the entire divas division and want to see someone else get the spotlight for a while. Of course, I refuse to believe that someone is either Bella Twin, so maybe the fix was in. Either that or the cooling off has been caused by seeing her get pinned or tap out time and time again. They've wadebarreted her.

I don't think a person can be oversaturated with a three and a half minute appearance every other week, mostly while she's either standing at ringside, or one part of a tag/six person match.

We're talking about someone who was involved in the top storyline throughout 2012 and changed dudes as often as she may change her sanitary napkin and being the GM of Raw?

Only time a Slammy has mattered is when Owen was going around as a 2 time winner. And that was him as a heel looking goofy for trumpeting something meaningless. That's what the Slammys are, a silly lil thing. It's not a real accolade, it's a fake one even by rasslin standards.
Not getting the hubbub.

Evidence of her still being popular since then exists. If they were really that bored with her, they wouldn't have enthusiastically cheered the verbal destruction she laid down on the Total Divas, and she's still getting good reactions now.

But they can be over-saturated by being linked to nearly every top guy on the roster.

If they were smart, they'd use AJ's overness to put her in interesting storylines to get other Divas over in a feud where BOTH sides at least get a chance to look good.
But you know, this is the WWE, we can't have that shit, we gotta have EXTREMES where both sides come off as awful.

It's still relatively fresh in many peoples' minds; you say it like it was 5 years ago when was only a year ago. I'm not arguing that she isn't popular as she is, but she is indeed over-saturated to a lot of people, which in return makes her unlikable or unbearable.

If anything her current booking reminds me a little of Zack Ryder. He got over, the fans wanted them to do something useful with him, but WWE carnie petulance denied them that. I would not at all be surprised if she lost the title at TLC in a relatively meaningless match against a person who is comparatively irrelevant, within touching distance of getting the title record.

If her association with Punk/Bryan and Kane is fresh in people's minds, then that would be a good thing, because the fans tended to react quite well to that storyline. Her time with Dolph was more of a mid-card thing until Cena got involved, but even then she was only one part of a storyline that was largely dominated by Cena and Vickie Guererro. Even if fan interest has waned (which I attribute to the way she's been booked rather than her), I don't think it's gone as low as making her anywhere near unlikable or unbearable.

AJ being with Dolph wasn't a midcard story at first. Dolph was aiming for the championship with his feud with Cena. And yes, she has become unlikable/unbearable whether you see it or not because of her booking. Many people didn't mind her at first, but she's just booked in a way that some people start not to like her anymore and her fanbase makes it even worse for some.

]A year is a long time in wrestling. I just want to pick on this one thing. It is a long for most things in wrestling, but when it's a "high profile story" a year is a short time. For the most recent evidence I offer up the Turd that is Cena vs Orton. It's been years since they had a proper feud but many people (including myself) feel "Oh god not again" when it's presented to them. Not taking sides because I'm kinda in the middle of how i feel on this, but just trying to bring a different perspective to the thread.

As I said, she was popular during most of those associations. So if it's still fresh in people's minds, that would be a good thing. Dolph has mid-card written all over him, even if he's going for a title. And no, she hasn't become unlikeable or unbearable. This is verifiable by simply listening to fan reactions to her. She's pretty much the only Diva who gets support. It doesn't make any logical sense that now, when her presence on the roster is smaller than it was during the Punk/Cena/Bryan/Kane/Dolph period, that the fans would suddenly stop liking her.

But she hasn't been over-saturated for a year now because since that 20th anniversary Raw episode, she's been the definition of a mid carder. Like her placement on the card now isn't that much better than Miz's. People claim she should be de-pushed as she was, yet she is still over and seals a ton of merchandise even with the reduced screen time. She should be getting more screen time due to that.
