Newz on a new DVD for a possible HOF Inductee

We can now exclusively reveal that a new Ultimate Warrior DVD is currently in the works at WWE for release next year!

It’s down on the schedule as a full blown 3 disc DVD (2 disc Blu-ray) and listed as a “match compilation”. There is no word as of now if Warrior himself will be involved but that is possible given his recent new ties to the company as relates to the WWE 2K14 video game and a rumored meeting with Vince McMahon during SummerSlam weekend.

Earlier this month we heard that one or more possible 2014 WWE DVDs titles are “pending Superstar involvement” and this could be one of those.

As you may know, this isn’t the first DVD that World Wrestling Entertainment has produced on The Ultimate Warrior. Back in 2005 the controversial “Self-Destruction of The Ultimate Warrior” DVD was released which led to well-documented animosity between Warrior and WWE in subsequent years, even to the point of a lawsuit being filed!

The release date of the new Ultimate Warrior DVD and Blu-ray (not yet officially named) is expected to fall in April, also raising speculation of a possible Hall of Fame induction.

I'd assume that its pretty much going to be the 2nd and 3rd disks of Self Destruction. It isn't like Warrior had many notable matches of quality.

Warrior had enough matches of quality to fill up a DVD--especially when you combine quality matches with notable matches. He's no Ric Flair, but he has enough.

I would imagine there'd be a lot of promos on it as well--alongside a new documentary.

Maybe WWE will buy the rights to his epic comeback match against Orlando Jordan.

They could include the Rude/Warrior Summerslam match as well as the Savage/Warrior match in the UK. He also did a host of tag matches with good in ring talent during his run as champion which could be featured as well. Matches won't be the issue, as long as they try to right the story they told with their previous Warrior DVD (although I have my doubts if it is a match compilation as reported), I am happy.

Dude is a motivational speaker and despite some of his "sayings", he definitely can be a great speech if given the opportunity.

That being said, I would definitely be slightly more interested in WMXXX if he was a part of it, even if it was standing on the ramp. While I wasn't a major fan as a kid, he was still a major part of my childhood and should go in ASAP.

Honestly, outside of a few people - mostly Bobby Heenan - I didn't think Self Destruction was all that insulting. I thought if anything it was a pretty balanced look that still had plenty of praise for him. Granted, it was pretty uncharacteristic of WWE's DVDs on people, given they generally are just straight praise, so I guess that in its own right says some things about it.

Hopefully. They were wrong about what they said, especially Bobby. I don't care if Warrior was "there for himself". Why else would you put your body through that if you weren't making money? It's also hypocritical since Bobby says very clearly in his second book that if you're in this business for any other reason than money, you're an idiot. As far as no one wanting to work with him...I'm sure he wasn't the most skilled worker, but I doubt he was as stiff as guys like Piper or Valentine. On top of that, who wouldn't want to work with a top name? That's more money!

Vince's stuff is BS too. Firing a guy because his father died? I don't care how distant they were...that's a f***ed up thing to do.

Yeah, there was Bladerunners match on WWE's recent Mid-South DVD. It was pretty terrible, but interesting to see Hellwig in his pre-Warrior days.
