While it's well documented that Shawn Michaels is not always a very nice person--most of those interviews didn't seem like anything more than has-beens whining about somebody higher up on the card than them.

I'm a little bit worried about what I'll see if I watch that video, is HHH involved? Actually given some of the allegations in the video you should be more concerned if Vince McMahon or Pat Patterson is involved. Oh, Cornette's homophobic? That's disappointing.

curious what helms meant by "let him down" they barley interacted He talks about it in his shoot. 1.They were involved in a multiman match and somebody missed a spot that was supposed to lead to Hurricane getting taken out so he didn't know what to do. After the match he went to apologize to Shawn and ask what to do and Shawn yelled at him saying "the story isn't about you". 2.Vince had Hurricane doing the chokeslam and Helms got permission from Kane and Taker to use it. HBK was getting ready to feud with Kane and instead of asking Hurricane not to do the chokeslam he burried Hurricane using it to the lockerroom saying it devalued the move. 3.He says he saw Shawn cuss out a lot of people and bury them to Vince, and he because of this he feels that Shawn is a hypocrite about finding the lord. He also never really says Shawn held him down. He said his issue was Shawn treated him like crap, and he (Helms) always thought "I'm in the opening match, you're the main event. I'm a comedy character, why do you even care what I do?" He's been pretty open that when his buttons are pushed he's quick to punch people in the face, and he also openly admits that his motorcycle crash was a horrible and dumb mistake he made and he knew he had to pay for it. Otherwise Helms has been pretty cool. His shoot from last year is very interesting. Not really bitter about anything and he jokes a lot.

Something that Michaels has NEVER EVER done, right? Whining is whining no matter who does it--if the roles were reversed I'd call out Shawn Michaels on it. That being said, I can't think of too many shoot interviews where Michaels has gone off on people. They may not be as recent. Either way, it'd suck if he did it too.

Michaels, as much as I like him, has always struck me as a changed man but the fact people tend to overlook is he's still the same man. Even if he's changed or grown older and mellowed out a little, there's some traits in a person that don't just go away. Unfortunately, I think in Shawn's case most of them are traits that had him fairly hated in the 90's.
Little things that have popped up over the years, the most infamous being the Hogan situation, show that Michaels is still Michaels when it comes down to it. He just managed to clean up his life.

He says he saw Shawn cuss out a lot of people and bury them to Vince, and he because of this he feels that Shawn is a hypocrite about finding the lord. How is that hypocritical? I didn't know religious people were supposed to be these precious vessels that aren't allowed to have the same emotional outbursts as the rest of us. I get so tired of the "well you're a _______, so you should know better" accusations that people use. And I'm not even religious. The only statement that Helms should use is one he did later make, in the sense that Shawn is a main eventer and Helms was not. No need to drag personally beliefs into this, but he did make himself look even more ridiculous by comparing Shawn to people of the Bible, which again is silly. Regardless of beliefs or lackthereof, everyone should be held accountable as equals. Being something or being nothing doesn't make you better or less than anyone else. Helms did make several points in his shoot, but the problem is the way he addressed his issues. I'd say a lot of his accusations about being buried, was likely the growing attitude among the two, but I'd say it goes both way. Also, while he has come off as a much more chill guy in more recent interviews, he has had problems with violence in the past, especially the horeshit assault he did to Buff Bagwell. I really liked Helms as a character and do think he could be a nice guy in real life, his mishaps with the law and attitude and pent up aggression take away any merit he may have in terms of anything he says.

My less-than-positive views on religion are well-known but I shall defend it here as being "born again" alone does not change a person and Helms is wrong in that assumption. Deep down Shawn is still the same jackass he was in the '90s, he's just kicked the drug habit and gained a sense of life perspective.

Sadly, I think X-Pac has a similar video on Youtube with the same kind of name. ........well, not very similar. In fact, much more painful. MUCH. MORE.

This and if anyone has read the childhood section of HBK's book, you would know that Shawn was always the emotional type and would get into fights as a kid. Shawn naturally is an emotional-driven person and that's just who he is. He now just seems to know how to control his anger somewhat better.

So were supposed to accept that he's just a cruddy human being because he can't get over the past because "that's just how he is?"

I didn't watch the video, but I truly think that since becoming a Christian and finding God, he's a changed man for the better. The past is the past, I'm a Christian, and I lose my temper sometimes, nobody is perfect of course, but I assume they are bringing up stuff Shawn did years ago, which is ridiculous.

On Shawn's case it was a whole lot of things as opposed to 'just' finding God. He got married and had a kid. All that tied together helped him reevaluate his life and get his attitude and ego under control. The potential for him to be the guy he was in the '90s is still there, but he has a handle on it. For the other side of it, look at Jake Roberts in '95/'96. Found religion, but didn't have anything else in his life and fell back into his old ways. Changing who you are is difficult because you're trying to undo years, or even decades, of ingrained behaviour and personality traits, which is why I've never bought the argument Helms made.

All valid points...all sour grapes.
Interviewer: When Shawn lost his smile...was it a legit injury?
Kevin Nash: F*** no. Shawn just figured out how to work 9 months at a time.

It's also important to note that everybody isn't going to like everybody. Some people have nothing but good things to say about HBK. Some people have very little good to say about him. That's just life. I'd wager very, very few of us are 100% liked by all the people we've come across in life.
HBK is an avowed born-again Christian and he is not perfect. In fact, there are undoubtedly some occasions wherein he closely resembles himself in the 1990s without the out of control drug problems. This does not make him a failure or a hypocrite. This makes him a born-again Christian.
