If it doesnt do huge money DC movies are dead prob for at least 10 years and by that time the comic book film thing could be over. Would it be wrong if I said this movie not meeting expectations wouldn't be the worst thing ever? Not out of any particular dislike for the cast (even though I'm not David Goyer's biggest fan, and I think Gal Gadot was miscast), but because I feel like the Marvel Cinematic Universe concept is starting to do more harm than good. I mean, hell, even Universal is about to do it with the Universal Monsters. Should this movie do well? Of course. But if it doesn't, maybe, just maybe, the other studios will take note and not bank all of their money on the extended universe concept.

Yes, being successful is a good thing. The Jump Street guys are writing The Flash movie... We're doomed. Probably not, but it's DC/Wb so that has to be the reaction. Edit: I can honestly say that the Age of Ultron trailers don't do anything for me. I'm still going to see it but for the most part, it looks just like the first movie but with hundreds of jobber robots instead of aliens.

Well we'll see, but you have an awesome team producing week after week of Flash adventures, and you're just going to reinvent the wheel with guys who did a comedy spoof of an '80s TV series? Mind you, at the rate we're going, anyone who isn't on the Flash TV series team would be a step down.

But I'm willing to see what the Jump Streeters can do.

The religious symbolism irks me too.

I liked the teaser. I just don't understand what everyone is so bent out of shape over. I know we all have our own tastes and all...but is it THAT bad? I will be completely honest. I didn't hate it and didn't think it was horrible, just I was expecting a bit more. For a film that's been in post production for the last year, they could've added a bit more in order to build the excitement. For me I know it's a teaser and we probably shouldn't have expected much obviously. But they could've done a better job and showcased more scenes for a film that's been in post production for a year.

And it doesn't come out for a year so there's plenty of time to showcase what the movie has to offer.

I get where you're coming from, but considering it's just a teaser, and not a full trailer, I think it got the job done quite well. Just enough to really give us a feel for the tone of the film, little glimpses of the characters and setting...that's all we really needed.

Just watched the trailer again and I realized what bugs me the most, it came off as really f***ing depressing. I really hope that is not the vibe of this whole movie. I always imagined a Superman/Batman team up movie being really fun. It looks like they sucked all the fun out of both characters. I mean really, what's with the Superman statue with the words False God spray painted on it? That's a bit much. I guess I'm just a little old fashioned and I'm used to seeing Superman portrayed as the ultimate good guy that the people love and rally behind. Not some Jesus metaphor that no one trusts. No sir, I don't like it.

This trailer was very interesting, then Ben Affleck started speaking as Batman and I busted out laughing. Oh Warner Bros., you should of added another "0" on that offer for Bale to return. That's five zeroes, with a two, and a dollar sign...(just got back from On the 20th Century) So long as the contract included throat lozenges for Bale, I'd be for that. Seriously, I wonder if the modulation is WB's answer to the (justified) ridicule of Bale's Bat-voice? Or is it just for his TDKR-type armor? That's what had me wondering. It could simply be something he has built into all his batsuits, rather than having to do that voice himself. I guess we shall have to wait and see. I know I want to see this movie already, something I don't feel for Age of Ultron, or indeed any of the MCU. They're films I'll go and see when they're out, because I know it'll be a fun couple of hours, but I'm not as passionate about them as other people (nor do I think Joss Whedon is the genius some people say he is - I like Buffy, Angel and Dollhouse, but nothing else really). Actually, making me want to see this movie after I proclaimed, not that long ago, that I was burnt out on it and other superhero movies... that's an achievement.

It's...different. But a welcome break from the barrage of Meh-Val light-halfheartedness
(and yes, I'm only partially trolling when I say that. Will still see Age of Ultron)

In all seriousness. I will give them credit for doing something different and not just doing exactly what Marvel does with their trailers. (Had about enough of that honestly. Jokes! Jokes! Stop the music for jokes!)
I didn't hate the trailer. The imagery was fine. Batman looked cool. It's just that it looks depressing as f*** and not in a interesting and exciting way like Dark Knight Returns. Ya know?
I can't believe people are bashing the Bat voice. After Bale? Come ooooon.

It's weird, Snyder seems to be hoping to make a series of Superman movies for people who normal wouldn't like Superman. I liked Man Of Steel in spite of its faults but at times the movie seemed to be saying, "look, it's a tougher, badass and more brooding Superman, just like you all wanted".
Or it might be just DC suffering from a Nolan effect. I don't mean to make this a Marvel vs. DC thing, both of their approaches can and have resulted in some fun superhero movies, but the solemn tone of the trailer feels a little dated in the wake of the success of Guardians and Winter Soldier (which was as serious as Dark Knight, but way more hopeful).
I'm looking forward to it anyway because Superman in general is love, but it seems like the public has had their fill of the deconstructed, broken superhero after so many stories like that, and now they're more willing to pay to see them save the day.

The trailer is alright, but.... nothing of note other than bleak, depressing imagery and mood.

It's a teaser isn't it? Isn't the point of those to not show too much, if anything?

I liked it. But then I enjoyed Man of Steel also so I'm perfectly fine with WB taking this serious direction with their DC Cinematic Universe.
If you want more light-hearted fare with a tinge of seriousness to it, the MCU is for you. If you like a more serious, grounded take on superheroes, the DCCU is for you.
And if you're like me who enjoys both the MCU and DCCU with their different tones, then you're winning all the time.

The first teaser for Age of Ultron was what...October? The Batman movie doesn't come out until next year.

We'll really win when we get that Superman buddy comedy where he teams with Krypto to stop Mr. Mxyzptlk.
