Watchmen would have worked had the guy playing Adrian Veidt not mumbled all his lines, and if 75% of the film not been in slow motion.

Having enjoyed the theatrical version for what it was and not for what it was meant to be, I actually watched the extended cut. It is actually worse than the theatrical version and I'm saying this as someone who has it on my Vudu account, I will screencap my proof to let you guys know I'm not lying. It's pretty much THE EXACT same movie just the first 20 - 30 minutes are different when Lois Lane is in Afirca (forgive if I'm wrong on that one)and you get a better backstory on that whole ordeal. Everything is almost the same as the original cut that made it to theaters. Don't waste the extra 15 dollars on this. Buy the 10.00 DVD when it hits Wal-Mart if you liked it (and honestly I liked the Theatrical cut). Save the 15 and spend it on a better movie like Deadpool, Mad Max Fury Road, or even Terminator Genisys (I liked Terminator Genisys more than this poor excuse of an extended cut).

One bad thing already with the 3 hour version of the film is now people online are now saying what a genius Snyder is or how its all WB's fault for the terrible reception of the movie. No no f***ing no Snyder isn't a genius at all, but how is it NOT WB's fault if the Ultimate Cut is better than the theatrical version? Snyder didn't make that call, WB did. Had they released that version it might very well have crossed the billion threshold they wanted. Oh, it's absolutely WB's fault that the theatrical cut is worse than the extended cut, but the extended cut is still dogshit and probably wouldn't have made as much money anyway due to the fact that a movie three hours long isn't getting as many screenings per day as one that's 30 minutes shorter. I very much doubt a slightly less disastrous word-of-mouth and critical reaction would've compensated for that.

At least from what those guys linked earlier said, it does sound like the longer one takes care of the problems of relating to the characters more and explaining how Lex enacts his plans which were the two biggest problems with the initial release. I don't think I'll be sitting in the theater for it, but as there have been some long movies that have done well I don't think it would be a big stretch to say there was a good chance this one would have done better from the start.

I have. It's definitely an improvement in the sense that it fills in a lot of the gaps, but does nothing to address the fundamental flaws of the movie: - the pacing still lurches from barely moving in the first two thirds of the movie to breakneck speed in the third as if its the starship Enterprise. - four dream sequences, including a dream sequence inside a dream sequence. And none of them add anything of importance or move the plot forward. - a movie about Batman against Superman should be a movie about contrasting ideologies, not a moody human asshole vs. an angsty alien asshole, and the fight itself has no emotional stake since it's one dude who's been tricked into fighting another dude who's being blackmailed... if these two hulking nitwits would just talk to each other then there would be no need to fight. - it's still unclear why Lex is enacting this grand scheme, only that he knows Batman and Superman's secret identities and wants to make them fight. - Lex's backup plan to killing an alien with unchecked power who at least has shown respect to human leaders... is to create a more powerful, completely uncontrollable alien that immediately tries to kill him and everything that it sees. - the overwrought, over-wordy, pretentious drivel that passes for dialogue, particularly any time Lex is serious or Superman is mopey. - we get it, Zack, Superman is Jesus Christ. Could you possibly be any less obvious about it, please? - MARTHA!

Currently in the middle of recutting the Ultimate Edition. I decided to finish the cut when Doomsday and Supes are nuked, because that gives me a much better ending

Heres my thoughts,
Batman V Superman Ultimate edition is an actual movie, unlike the theatrical cut which was just parts of a movie. It is actually set up pretty well and theres a lot more character development and showing things like Clark doing actual investigative journalism and how Lex was able to do the stuff he did. While it is an actual watchable movie its still not a good movie and the Martha part still makes little to no sense in this version just as it does in the theatrical cut. The ending is still just as stupid, Batman still murders a ton of people, lots of the fight sequences such as the desert nightmare just seem like they are paced wrong and are in slow motion, 3 hours is just too f***ing long and theres still something about Henry Cavil as superman that makes me want to see him punched in the face again and again and again. If the Theatrical cut of this film is a 0 which i gave it before and Civil War is a 9 (Winter Soldier is a 10) then this version of the movie is about a 6. I'd still put a Iron man 3 or Thor 2 over it. If you have seen the other version i still recommend watching this at least once,
