I've heard it's Shawn, Vince or Shane. All separate rumors.

I looked at the thread's title and wondered " is it about the one by Vince?"

@graant, you should unembed and link that instead. It's not from the WWE accounts.

It sounds like Shane, but more fun to think it's Vince singing it.

Part of me thinks it's Shane, another part of me thinks this song should be launched into the sun for being so God-awful.

I never liked the "fake" songs on the WWF albums. It just seemed silly to make a CD of themes with one or two made for CD only themes mixed in. But I guess with the 1997 edition someone really wanted to sing the Shawn Michaels song. I don't think it's Vince though, it doesn't sound much like Stand Back which I thought was very good. Maybe a case of Vince making someone sing the Shawn song for kicks.

I'd bet the farm (if I had one) that it's not Vince, Shane, or anyone else you've ever heard of. It was probably a recording made for some other purpose and thrown on there just because "eh, it's different."

It's Vince on coke and I refuse to believe anything otherwise.

It not Shawn. Shawn did the one released on Full Metal or the one he used on TV, it's really clear when you listen to that and Shawn Promo voice. I think that Vol 2 one is Shane.

I refuse to believe it's anyone but Vince. It's probably not Vince. I will still believe it's him, now and forever.

Why am I picturing Honky Tonk Man listening to it on YouTube and giggling? Lol

There's something so delightfully reassuring about the gentle tones of the saxophone in the background while Vince says: "Hands off the merchandise!"

I remember listening to my WWF Full Metal cassette constantly, but being very disappointed when I got Vol 2. It DID have "You Start the Fire" though!

I can't unhear Shane now. This thread is making me crack up.
I haven't heard that version for years. I will never forgot the disappointment I had when I was 10 and I bought that CD to play as entrance music for my Jakks figures and that butchered version came on. I felt betrayed.
