Thanks to Dave Prazak's Facebook page, this was last night in Mobile, AL. And they still went ahead with this show?

I don't understand why TNA keeps going for these WWE sized arenas. why don't they do what WWF did in do civic centers and small concert halls and armories? Especially since these are just house shows. Can't get an Impact zone taping at Manhatten/Hammerstein? Or the ECW arena? They had house shows there before.

It's often cheaper/easier to book big venues and block off segments as less people have enough back bone/delusions of grandeur to book them up, and as such they are more available/the venue more willing to cut you some slack on renting it out. Whereas smaller in demand arenas are liable to cost more to book, and they will usually take more head off your live ticket sales as they can afford to say "we'll book someone else if you ain't down with that". I know it seems sad and worrying but this is likely to be a cost saving measure in that way. Less competition for venues = the more TNA gets to keep from whatever amount of tickets are sold.

That, and it really doesn't matter all that much if the building looks filled or not, because they aren't putting it on TV to begin with.

It is a sad picture too see what doesn't look like 200 people are there. But again they still do well when it's PPV or TV tapping when it comes to being fuller.

Why would they not go on with the show? They've already lugged all of the equipment and talent out there, they're not getting a refund on the arena, would have to refund the people who did buy tickets. It wouldn't make any business sense.

I don't think Dave Prazak is really in a position to make fun of anyones crowds.

I've often been baffled as to why TNA doesn't run the Louisville area with any sort of frequency. They did do Destination X here last year (which drew one of their better gates of the year), but overall TNA has been here maybe 3 times and one of those was technically Shepherdsville to the south. Broadbent Arena is actually about the right sized venue for TNA, bigger than a really small HS gym or ballroom but smaller than the KFC Yum Center or Freedom Hall.
I've often thought that promotions need to have a base of towns they can always rely on. TNA kinda skipped that process and tried being national without ever being regional.

Alabama is hardly a wrestling state. have they even tried to run in Carolinas? Wrong. Alabama has a large fanbase of wrestling fans who will so up for shows and are quite passionate. My question is how much advertisement did they do for the house show since Mobile and Pensacola, FL are considered twin cities due to how close they are and quite populated. You can't just air a radio spot during Paul Finbeum and call it a day. Or have Chris Sabin do a 2 minute call in to the local morning zoo radio show. TNA needs to work on with local promoters if they don't feel like doing the ground work.

This is what I'm fearing for the house show that's coming close to my hometown; Abilene, Tx. It is on Feb 14th but I just now found out about it by accident when reading online (non wrestling site) that Impact was coming to Abilene. I haven't seen or heard anything else about it. No radio ads, no newspaper ads, etc. TNA put on a house show here in 2009 and there was about 3/4 of the way full. I really hope it gets that full again, but even with me as a TNA fan I had no idea it was happening so I suspect lots of other fans don't even know its coming.

You know a company's brand is screwed, when a roster including Kurt Angle, Sting, Roode, Anderson, Aries and Joe can't draw more then 400.
Dixie will continue to bury her head in the sand like always.

There's only so many excuses TNA or hardcore fans can give.
That crowd doesn't look much better than any of the indy shows I've been too in the past few years. I bet the indy shows were better too because all of the wrestlers were up and comers. In TNA, this is the best some of these guys will ever do...and that isn't very good.

I don't understand why TNA keeps going for these WWE sized arenas. This is actually a fairly small building. 10-11K capacity. It's probably one of the few venues in Mobile as well. I imagine the next building is much smaller or may not have the insurance to cover a wrestling show. That said, this crowd looks like it'd have been lucky to fill Full Sail Studio. I hate that TNA is dying a slow death. Get the Carters out or shut it down.
