Since I just posted a thread about recommendations for a completely different type of movie, it got me thinking about this one. I'll out Blood Hook. It's a campy 1980s film distributed by Troma and made by some of the same guys behind MST3K.

Slumber Party Massacre.
This one rarely ever gets mentioned in conversations regarding horror flicks. Not a great movie but definitely under appreciated and neglected over the years to the point where it's pretty obscure. It has one of the creepiest killers in it and one of the most memorable scenes in any horror movie to me involving a pizza guy. It's been years but that image still remains burned in my head as one of the scariest visuals I seen watching horror flicks when I was a kid.
Sleepaway Camp
Not the sequels with Pamela Springsteen but the first with Felissa Rose. That ending...is still very creepy to this day. Yes, you can see what's coming 100 miles away but that final few minutes is what makes the film memorable to the small bunch of fans.
Dolls
A pre-Chucky killer doll flick. Worth a watch if you can find it.
Wes Craven's Deadly Friend
Pretty obscure flick that has one very memorable death involving a basket ball...lol. Another one worth checking out.
I'll leave it at those few.

Slumber Party Massacre 2 is the best...if you like a super sexy killer who uses a guitar with a drill on the end to kill sorority sisters...and SINGS!
Also Intruder, have you seen Intruder? I bet someone has said Intruder already but I'll say Intruder.

Intruder's a personal favorite. great kills, and it advertises itself as "Starring Bruce Campbell" when he's barely in it for 2 minutes at the end. I always had a soft spot for Slumber Party Massacre 3. the killer's the least intimidating, most limp-wristed wimp of a killer I've ever seen and yet he still kills almost everyone because they're repeatedly too stupid to just kill him any one of the many times he's incapacitated.

Motel Hell
A very weird and very entertaining film about two sibling farmers trapping people and "growing" them in their hidden field before turning them into their famed meat jerky. The lead actors are excellent, which unfortunately compounds how bad the supporting cast is. Thankfully though, this movie focuses more on atmosphere and is very good at it. Again, it's very weird and unusual but it really pulls it off. I especially liked how the killers act very nice so you can believe people would fall for their traps, and that they are genuinely convinced that they are helping their community.
It seems to have gained a cult following and one can easily see how it influenced other movies, such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
Speaking of it, I also recommend The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, it's just as weird as Motel Hell but the plot is more focused. I found the main characters way more likeable than in the original. It's got amazing visuals too and I don't mean just the gore. The locations look great with the family's lair being IMO even creepier than the first film's mansion. Again, the actors give outstanding performances, and in this one the quality of the acting is more consistent than in Motel Hell IMO. And Stretch has got to be one of the coolest main characters in horror.

I've seen Slumber Party Massacre II...lol. Strangely entertaining. The killer from the first film reincarnated as a greaser/rocker in leather with a guitar drill (rofl)Interesting concept in that the killer goes from dreams into reality. You can tell where they got the inspiration from with all the wise cracks etc. I haven't seen Intruder though. Here's another really obscure one: Don't go in the Woods. If you can track it down I'd say go for it. One more came to mind...Mountaintop Motel Massacre. Check that one out too sometime.

Fatal Games is fun. A slasher that uses a javelin.
