It's rather easy not to like him.

The only time he didn't suck is when he had Riley as a wingman. This year has been filled with awful Miz moments, like trying to turn him into Ric Flair jr and the stupid Strahan/PTP thing and yet they still have him beat a newly turned Brodus, who just gave a great promo, with a signature move.

I think it's completely reasonable to dislike The Miz.

I thought Awesome Truth was pretty good. And his time with Morrison was tolerable. When he has someone to work with, he at least doesn't have the spotlight directly on him. The only thing that pissed me off during all of those was they still made Miz look like the superior wrestler, while his partner was usually the one eating the pinfalls and such. So lame.

Making him their world champion was definitely WWE's David Arquette moment So nice they did it twice.

I didn't like Awesome Truth because they were thrown together, and it derailed Truth's heel turn. The In Crowd was good but like you say, they tried to make it look like Miz was the HBK of the group, which was ridiculous.

The only thing that pissed me off during all of those was they still made Miz look like the superior wrestler, while his partner was usually the one eating the pinfalls and such. So lame. Awesome Truth seemed like equals to me. ShoMiz seemed to have Miz hiding behind Big Show. It felt like he needed Big Show to "legitimize" him or to be an equalizer or something. Miz never looked superior to Morrison. He was always made out to look like a sidekick. Morrison was in the MiTB at WM24 while Miz was in the ECW Battle Royal. The team almost always came out to Morrison's music with the slo mo entrance unless Miz was wrestling a singles match. Morrison was always positioned as the breakout star of the two. Although Miz won the WWE Championship, it was expected that Morrison would chase him up the card. It was only when Morrison's prospects ultimately didn't pan out that he was seen as the "Jannetty". The only time Miz ever looked "superior" was with Riley, and that's because Riley was actually meant to be Miz's sidekick, and was booked to be an incompetent loser who didn't come out of his shell and realize his inherent abilities until he turned face.

Miz the real life person seens like a great guy but he is average and unmemorable in every way and the guy is just too derpy looking to be an intimidating heel. They really should have him as a midcard gatekeeper heel ala MDM/Honky who up and coming faces beat on their way to the top.

A lot of this is traces of the WWE's old bullshit lockerroom culture, where you have to constantly "prove your love for the business." They dislike him because he didn't come in the right way.
I remember back when he was champ, they ran all these packages and he gave all these promos making him seem like this respectable underdog who fought against the odds, and against people who weren't willing to accept him, and he finally proved them wrong. And... uh, we were supposed to hate him for it. Weirdest, most backward championship booking the WWE has ever had, in my opinion.

I was going to write a couple of paragraphs, but ultimately they'd just boil down to this.

I don't want anyone to not share their opinion and this place would be boring if everyone felt the same way so I'm not against the idea of not liking Miz, it's just that I never saw his fall as being his fault. Meaning, I never looked at it being a matter of poor promo skills or ring skills (he's fine at both in my opinion).

I think a lot of his de-push revolved around the fact that he shit the bed in the main event of WrestleMania. Now here's the thing, Cena didn't do anything to help that match, either. They both took a dump in the center of the ring, but when you look at those two guys, it's pretty easy to see which one would take the blame. Truth be told, it was a joint effort.
