It's gotta be said: Peyton looked like utter shit yesterday. He looked old, slow and tired. Yeah, it's a team game, but some of the choices he made led to those turnovers. He's an all-time great certainly, but I think we got a pretty definitive answer on who's the better quarterback between he and Brady yesterday; certainly in big games. That's no knock, while they were both great, Montana was better than Marino as well. I think a big issue with people is that they automatically think that if people think Brady is better, than that means they're saying Manning sucks. He doesnt. He's a sure fire Hall of fame QB, easily one of the best ever. But overall body of work, Brady is just a little bit better than he is. Brady has won more titles/big games with less talent.

I saw a couple Bronco fans say they'd love to see the team go hard after Greg Hardy. I'm sure we couldn't afford him, but that'd be sweet as hell.

And hell, if we're gonna crush Tony Romo for choking (and rightfully so most of the time), at what point do we do the same to Peyton?
Certainly Tony isn't as accomplished, nor as talented, but let's be consistent in our assessments. "VINTAGE PEYTON!"

And that's fair; Peyton deserves his fair share, and then some, for the loss last night. However, you're going to have people that try to pin it all on one guy. "WELL, IF MANNY HADN'T SNAPPED IT HIGH WE WOULD HAVE WON!" "IF DEMARYIUS HADN'T FUMBLED WE WOULD HAVE WON!" "IF THIS THAT AND THE OTHER THING HAPPENED THEN WE WOULD'VE WON!" It's ridiculous. The entire team wins games and the entire team loses games. I know the media typically gives Peyton all the credit for the wins, but that's what the media does. QBs are the sexy figureheads of the teams, so of course they get talked about the majority of the time; fans and the teams know that the team wins and loses game. Last night was a total Bronco loss - EVERYBODY flat out sucked and didn't do their jobs last night. You can't pin it all on Peyton, DeMaryius, Champ, Decker etc. etc. The Denver Broncos were given the task of winning the Super Bowl and they all let each other down.

The entire offense choked last night. Did Manning look good? Not at all. Can you put all the blame on him? No. The offensive line was garbage all night. Receivers and runningbacks forgot what ball security meant (that Demariyus Thomas fumble was one of the most boneheaded fumbles I've ever seen from a top receiver). Seattle's defense knew how to play them and they completely took them out of the game. Denver's receiving corps could barely get any YAC even when Peyton could throw the ball to them, and that's a big credit to Seattle's defense.

Peyton's only consistency with "choking" is in big games, and even then he typically loses in ass kickings. That's not really choking, imo. Romo, however, is damn near guaranteed to throw a pick late in the 4th quarter of a close game now. It is f***ing ridiculous how often he does it. It used to just be a joke, but now? Now it is kind of the truth. Even players on the defense admit they wait for it as well.

I have a hard time comparing Peyton to Romo as far as choke artists go. Peyton at least has 3 AFC Championships and a Super Bowl ring. Romo has never seen past the divisional round.

I don't think any of us here are going to say Peyton is not one of the great QBs to play the game. However, I don't think Peyton should be considered the greatest or in argument for the greatest.

As much as I hate Seattle I just hope the national narrative isn't about Peyton choking again. Seattle dominated that game and they deserve credit for bringing it.

In the next couple weeks the narrative will switch from Peyton to Seattle and their domination. In March Peyton might come back up with his neck check, but Seattle's going to get the credit they deserve.

Any chance Peyton retires? I thought about that last night, but the more I think about it the more I think absolutely not. He didn't go through all of that surgery and completely re-learn how to throw a football to end his career with a whimper. He'll back back.

Being nice is overrated.
Seattle is proof it's OK to be rude, crude, arrogant, obnoxious, and mouthy as long as they walk the walk with a seemingly unstoppable defense.

So I see Unocal's bought into the borderline racist "Richard Sherman's a THUG!" story a good two weeks after everyone else.

Yeah like there asshole quarterback Russell Wilson who visits sick kids at the children's hospital every Tuesday. Or Derrick Coleman, who is deaf and actually takes the time to write letters. Or Marshawn Lynch, who is very shy and not outgoing...although he does like skittles.

I just can't stand this whole notion that if Denver won last night, Peyton Manning's legacy is somehow greatly impacted and he is vaulted into this heretofore unseen stratosphere, but since the Broncos lost, it doesn't affect him at all and the blame should rather be focused on the offensive line, defense or special teams.

So I see Unocal's bought into the borderline racist "Richard Sherman's a THUG!" story a good two weeks after everyone else. It's nice that, even after we saw undeniable proof that Michael Crabtree is an asshole, Sherman is still getting this kind of treatment.
