As much blame as I was putting on Peyton, to say everything his done is moot is almost clinically insane.
There's no way to make a cogent, convincing argument that he's not an all-time great.

so does Eric Decker stay a Bronco? I don't see it. He is going to get Number 1 money from someone and we have more pressing needs than filling our number 2 spot. Decker's no show last night couldn't have come at a worse time

I'm about to be even harsher than BRV/slickness: Everything Peyton Manning accomplished over 17 years is officially moot. His so-called legacy is up in flames. Nothing he's ever done matters anymore. All he accomplished is now meaningless and in tatters. Last night was a referendum on everything and anything he's ever done. It doesn't matter what he did or does. I don't care what Peyton did last year the year before or the year before. I don't care about his 400+ touchdowns. Last night feels like his whole career just died to me. As far as I'm concerened, Peyton Manning is dead to me and should just quit. Go away and get out of the game.

As for Seattle, they did what nobody could really do all year: Get in Peyton's face and pressure him all night. They threw his timing all out of whack, and just knocked around his wide receivers. You can blame Peyton, the rest of the offense, the defense, or the special teams of the Broncos, but the Seahawks came out and just flat out punched the Broncos right in the jaw. I don't that safety to start really helped either. It just seemed like a bad omen for the rest of the night. Onto Seattle. If they stay relatively healthy down the road, and most of that defense stays together, as well as the a lot of the offense, they could be the team of the 2010's. A few more Super Bowl rings, and we'll be talking about the Seahawks rising from their bottom dwelling start to a dynasty. The safety was a weird play in that Peyton Manning always changes plays at the line. You'd think the center would have known that by now and not be so quick to snap the ball. Also, the fact that the center's name is Manny Ramirez is just all sorts of amusing.

I know that Peyton said that labeling their play as 'embarrassing' was insulting to the team, but can anyone try to explain where he was going with that? That had to be an embarrassing performance for what was a record setting offense. Their defense and special teams got owned as well. So how was that not an embarrassing performance for the Broncos?

They destroyed the best offense in the NFL (maybe ever depending on your view) but are getting little to no credit for it. Listening to NFL Radio this morning, they were saying his response was more direct to Welker who made the original embarrassed comment and feeling that it took away from Seattle or some such nonsense.

People need to understand that most of the "embarrassing" mistakes made by Denver were caused by pressure from the Seattle D.

Last night changed the way I view football. High-scoring offenses? Overrated. Vanilla offenses? Underrated. You ever notice the average offenses that win SB? Think about it. Look at the memorable offenses that have fallen short- 2001 Rams, 2007 Pats, 2013 Broncos. On the flip side- I've been watching football since 1984 and outside of maybe the 2009 Rams and the 2 Steeler teams that lost AFC CG's to New England at home, how many memorable defenses have fallen short? Super Bowl XXIV

Seattle went in there and dominated from start to finish and Denver's high powered offense managed 8 points and they were pushed around in all facets of the game. It was an embarrassing performance all around in the biggest game of the year. I don't see how it could be anything else.

Sure, last night was a miserable game for the Broncos/beautiful game for the Seahawks. However, one game can not and will not tarnish the legacy of one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL's history. His legacy is intact; hell, it's better than Dan Marino's, who only got to the Super Bowl once and lost the same way Peyton did last night. His career is not dead in the slightest, either. The only that's going to happen is if the doctors come in and say it is. In short, Peyton Manning had one bad game. That's it.

I agree that 2009 Rams squad was an amazing defense and should've won the Super Bowl. A few breaks here and there, and they easily beat the Colts for it all in SB 44.

Seeing Seattle destroy Denver like that made me feel better about those two games the Saints played at Seattle(Monday night game and Divisional round).

I haven't read anything, here or otherwise, that is taking all blame off of Peyton. Where are you reading that? As I said earlier, the entire team played like complete shit; from Peyton all the way down to Special Teams. Every player gets their own special slice of blame for playing unmotivated ball in the Super Bowl. Troy Aikman last night during the game and Herman Edwards this morning on SportsCenter just to name two. You're right, every player gets their own individual slice of the proverbial blame pie for last night's catastrophe. But the biggest slice at the dinner table unquestionably goes to Peyton Manning. Oh, alright. I didn't hear Aikman last night and I didn't know people were saying that today. I really wish the o-line hadn't crumbled; that's the most baffling thing of last night. I get that Seattle is that good, but it's like they forgot how to football. If a guy like Wilson, Kaepernick or Luck get pressured, they can take off, but Manning's a statue back there. They need to do a better job in standing up and hitting the d-line back.

Last night reminded me of when Diesel powerbombed Backlund in like 8 seconds and took the title. There was no retaliation, there was no counterpunch... there was only the winner fully and thoroughly annihilating the loser.
That game was almost like a classic college football beating where one team basically stops scoring on account of mercy. The Seahawks left all kinds of points on the field. If Belichick was coaching instead of old Pete the Seahawks would have broke 60.

Glad to hear Champ is open to a move to safety but unless he's also open to a $7 million dollar pay cut as well his days in Denver are done. And great in 2012? Were they watching him?

Following Sunday's Super Bowl, free agent Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie reiterated that he wants to play in 2014.
Former NFL FB and current FOX analyst Heath Evans said three Lions told him stories of Ndamukong Suh "trying to establish dominance in the locker room, even over coach Jim Schwartz."
