It has to be changed from 'Conway Pop' to 'Alberto Pop', that deadassed arena died completely when Alberto's music hit. I'm just gonna leave this here.

I still don't think Del Rio is charisma-less. When his character actually made some sort of sense, he was getting reactions. But no I guess it's all him.

I'm going to sound like I'm being an ass, but I sincerely mean this. You could hear the crowd booing Batista through his intro. They were going to let him have it for the third straight week. When Del Rio came out, the energy turned off so freaking fast it was like someone flipped a switch. They sat in silence for 3-4 minutes before something actually happened. Most impressive thing Del Rio has done in 4 years. Seriously. I said it in the Raw thread but I believe that they threw Del Rio out there to ensure Batista didn't get boos or have someone else's name being chanted over him. There is no way in hell McMahon can be that out of it to hear that crowd die during Del Rio segments every single week. Alberto Del Rio is Batista's wrestling equivalent of a D.U.F.F.

I still don't think Del Rio is charisma-less. The thing about charisma is that it's has to do with being magnetic and/or inspiring to large groups of people. So the opinion of a few people doesn't mean anything when quantifying charisma, when the guy puts large audiences in a coma week after week after week after week after week. That's not meant to be snarky at all. Just saying, personality and charisma aren't the same thing. I have friends that I think have great personalities but I wouldn't say they're very charismatic.

The crowd was kinda booing Del Rio, and not really doing anything for Batista. Should be an amazing match!

But he does have charisma, they've sucked him into a charisma-less vacuum of a semi-gimmick. When he was a face, he was showing charisma every week (well until the weird Swagger feud). Before the Edge derailment, he was loved around here for a reason.

I'm just glad Del Rio FINALLY has a real feud. His lack of any is the real reason the crowds have been dead when he comes out. I'll have a good laugh months from now if THIS angle of all things is what gets Del Rio over again.
More likely he'll lose, then get a losing streak angle.

Before the Edge derailment, he was loved around here for a reason. That is a good point. But, without the bells and whistles, and the really fun ring announcer/manager, all of a sudden he seems a lot less charismatic. I think if he was brimming with charisma, he would still get a reaction despite his gimmick being stripped down. After all, he was turned back heel because fans stopped responding to him strongly as a face. Kingston has been the exact same forever and he's not killing crowds like Del Rio does, not that he gets big reactions but it's something. When Del Rio comes out it's just uncomfortable. I wouldn't say he's completely void of charisma, but I think it's got to partly be on him lacking something. He's been an obvious chosen one for almost 4 years and the crowd just doesn't care. Maybe he's just bored and unhappy with what he's doing, if he is I wouldn't blame him for feeling that way.

I really do think changing Del Rio's from it's original horn opening that seemed to signify something of note was going to happen to the generic, repetitive, annoying theme he has used since earlier in 2013 has hurt his reaction. Bring back the horn!
To an extent I'm torn on Del Rio. I think he is talented and can be of use in WWE, but my god, the way they book and protect him for a guy who barely gets reactions is insane. Really they did both ADR and Ziggler a big disservice with the Payback double turn. It told a good story in the match, but WWE had no idea how to then use face Ziggler let alone heel Del Rio again.
