Hope everyone's keeping safe wherever they are. This wind and rain is something else. 100mph in some places today. Looking forward to the inevitable hosepipe bans in the summer even though it's done nothing but piss down since Christmas?

It's been strange, hearing all this news about insane floods and ridiculous winds and yet where I am it's just been a tad bit stormy, feeling pretty lucky.

Huge rain and wind here today, Getting fed up with it frankly.
That big hole on the M2 didn't help matters as I have to drive on that road to get to work.

It's not flooding here, but it's pretty f***ing wet. I had to walk to and from university in it, I was soaked through to my underwear and was literally able to wring my gloves and hat out. Not fun!
Almost hoping my lecture tomorrow's cancelled so I can just stay indoors until my parents come to pick me up on Friday! The ocean's pretty bad back home though, New Brighton flooded a while back in similar conditions, can't see it going well like this.

Bit of wind and constant rain here but I'm east of the flooded areas on a hill so not an issue for me.
Though I've read we have had so much rain water the ground has become over-saturated with water so it is now bubbling back up, bringing sewage and other unpleasantness into flooded areas in the south-west.

I live in a flood zone (though not directly IN one, my town of residence is on the banks of the Thames). One of my friends actually has to put up flood barriers in weather like this, and he's trying to sell his house. Two people have put offers in and withdrawn them since the weather warning news. Which has also meant he's had to withdraw the offer on the house he wanted. He's not happy, and my heart goes out to him.

Luckily the weather has been kind up until today, it has been blowing a gale today. I was scared shitless on the bus as it rocked going 50mph.

Up here in Glasgow its just been really windy, rainy and cold. So typical February for us. Although other Glasgow people (If you exist on here), how freaky was that 15 minute INSANE hailstone downpour yesterday?

Not the best time for me to install one of those plastic mini-greenhouses so I can bring me toms on.

Yeah, I work in the city centre, sure I saw a few minutes of snow before that too. Funnily enough my mate was in Ayr yesterday and said it was a scorcher down there!

Electricity went for a couple of seconds. That's all, thankfully.

It's pretty bad here in Cork. I live in an uphill area so it isn't too bad for me but I know a lot of people who have no electricity and a lot of the shops in the city got wrecked.

Well I've just moved house because the only train line between where I work and where I was living (albeit temporarily) got washed into the sea. So I am living minus any possessions until I get a day off to hire a van and move them - six days and counting.

Thankfully far enough east not to get the worst of it, but we've still got some flooding in the lower areas of town near the river (which I'm just slightly uphill from). My entire old route to work is pretty much underwater.
Hoping for the best for everyone else!

Thankfully not too bad, travelling anywhere can be a bit of a nightmare but I can't really complain about that when you consider how bad others have got it.

Well, it's extremely sunny here today, not a cloud in the sky and dry as hell. Almost worrying, like a calm before the storm!

All the schools are closed here today. One of them had the roof ripped off its sports centre yesterday. Saw a video and it looks mad. Some roads are out of action because of trees falling down. We had 93.6 MPH winds reported yesterday.
Also a bus had its door ripped off by the wind near by as well. My town has a river flowing through it which is up quite high and nearly at ground level, but not quite. We haven't had much flooding here compared to around Christmas time. It's mainly the wind that has been an issue
5,000 houses in my county are withouit power and have been since yesterday. mines (obviously) working though.
We were on an Amber warning of "please stay indoors and only travel if absolutely necessary"

I live in Surrey near Gatwick Airport and we've had our fair share of floods here but I haven't personally been affected too badly as other parts of Surrey have. We did have a few roads closed here and I couldn't take my car home one night because my road was blocked off. But compared to Somerset we've been pretty lucky.
