Then why aren't any younger guys trying to get his attention or throw an idea for a gimmick or an angle at him? Like Cena said on Austin's podcast, all Vince can say is no. Granted I don't know that guys aren't trying this, but with what Cena's saying it doesn't seem like a lot of people speak up to get the boss' attention because they're intimidated to say anything more than hello to him.

They are scared. As Cena said, a lot of guys are terrified of saying the wrong thing to Vince and getting fired because there is nowhere else to go. Nobody wants to take that risk to make themselves a star.

It's easy on the outside to say be more aggressive with your ideas, but when your ability to bring food home to your family is at risk if Vince hates your idea, I can't blame guys for being passive.

The answer is, of course, perspective. If you're a top guy, or a guy they have a lot of plans for, or a guy that the people with his ear say "has potential", then yes the door is open, just like with any company. If you're a guy who's been at the same job and are a leader in the company metrics or have passed up chances to go elsewhere or put the company above yourself, then you're valuable, the bosses known who you are. "Make yourself noticed" doesn't mean "Ask for things" where I work, it means "If there's OT, volunteer, don't bitch, take what you're given and make zero waves". Those are the guys who get promoted, and the guys who those in power will go to. Some "indy guy" or an amateur wrestling goes and gets Vince's ear, he's "in the doghouse". Someone who the company had fait in before they came up, or somebody like Jericho who jumped ship to join Vince, and THEY do get his ear because there is a difference in the company's eyes. Not new, and not exclusive to them by any means, but it is what it is.

Isn't that exactly what Titus did?

Of course Cena's got the balls to ask. He's a major star that could lose Vince money if he fires him for a poor angle idea. But if JTG were to say something wrong, he could be out the door in an instant. It isn't as easy for everyone else.

Maybe a lot of people are just happy where they are. There is also this. It's like any job. There are guys that are constantly trying to move up the food chain and reach higher positions in the company and there are guys who are just happy to be there and will do whatever the company asks them to do. Val Venis was like that, according to Lance Storm.

It's like what Heyman said on the Punk dvd about December to Dismember. Punk was informed of the plan and Heyman told him that if he didn't like it, he should talk to Vince and Heyman expected Punk to act like other guys and get nervous and not talk to him and Punk just went right in. I can understand guys being intimidated by Vince McMahon. It kind of makes sense.

Vince plays that intimidation bullshit until people barge into his office. That said, I can totally understand why some guys don't want to make waves and are happy with where they are, because realistically even being a jobber in the WWE is a better existence than that of an indy wrestler, but if a guy wants to move up the card he has to make waves and play the political game. It happens in every occupation.

Vince doesn't seem to listen to Cena that often as it is, so maybe a lot of guys just figure, "What's the point?"

It also is probably hard to even get a chance to speak with him, he is a very busy guy.

But if JTG were to say something wrong, he could be out the door in an instant. I'm pretty sure that Vince doesn't even know he's still employed.

Nobody wants to take that risk to make themselves a star. Which is pathetic. My grandpa always used to tell me if you want something speak up! Worst they can say is no! If you don't say anything, then nothing will happen!

Well, there was that one time when JTG did voice his displeasure at his Mania payday, which got him on TV that night, and if I'm not mistaken we've never seen him on Raw again.

I have a feeling that Vince had to go get a restraining order on Ryder if what Cena said is true. I have a feeling he'd never leave Vince alone.

I have a feeling that Vince had to go get a restraining order on Ryder if what Cena said is true. I have a feeling he'd never leave Vince alone. I think there's a difference with whining on Twitter about your tv time like a little girl or making snide comments in interviews, and growing a pair and talking to Vince respectably like a man. Also, I can't even remember the last time they fired a guy just because they talking to Vince about an idea for his character, or them ever firing a guy because of that.
