Yes, it is basically rugby with enough padding to keep and egg safe if it fell off the Eiffel Tower I doubt any harm would come to the women.

Yes let a 350 lb man slam a 100 lb female to the ground. Entertainment followed by prosecution.

Sure, just don't make them mandatory. If the spot is earned, the spot is earned.

Nah, it's rugby with more acceleration and large, mass-adding pads. Combine that knowledge with Newton's Second Law of Motion and you get a sport where hits are capable of being extremely brutal. Or to put it another way, medieval armor didn't prevent all injury, it just prevented certain types. It was every bit as capable of being crushed.

Rather see that then all the talk about removing things like the extra point and kick-off returns and adding dumb shit like a 4 point scoring method.

If side scrolling beat-em-up's from the 90's taught me anything, girls are naturally faster and can kick better and use whips in combat situations. All of this of course would equate a much more entertaining NFL experience. So bring on the girls (and whips!)

Kind of related, kind of not, but:
As many have said, women could absolutely play, but in all likeliness only in positions like kicker due to women's size (the fact that there are penalties in the sport if the kicker gets hit also helps make most of the questions for if a woman could be hit by players easier.)
However, for size/strength points: With the fact that some skill positions need merely "size and being hard to take down" without being offensive options, linemen don't have as much skill as needed. Centers do have snapping needed, and tackles have a lot of importance in the game, but positions like guard are mainly based on size and being hard to take down.
With those in mind- if a zookeeper were able to take a tamed, zoo-bred large animal that has been proven to take similar training in roles (say, a bear or a gorilla), then trained them to block- would you allow that bear or gorilla to play as a lineman in the NFL?

Yes and the second one of them is good enough to crack the roster, a woman will play in the NFL, NHL (regular season and for reals), MLB, and whatever else.

Baltimore Nighthawks? Really? At least none of the Carolina teams called themselves something like Carolina Big Cats. And California Quake? Really? It's like the Ultimate Frisbee episode of Cheap Seats where multiple teams named themselves after tragedies. I don't particularly care to share my feelings on the topic, but when I see a Cheap Seats reference, I have to give props. And just because we're talking about women's athletics... I would like us all to remember all-time legendary female bowler Kelly Rapp.

If a gorilla could get the footwork down and learn how to pull for run plays and stuff, sure. But they'd be doing more than just being big.

No, I just don't ever see it happening. At the high school level, that's different; you're still playing against a bunch of kids who haven't fully developed yet. In my area, there are maybe a handful of guys that are over 225 pounds and are D-I ready. The rest are just playing out their high school years before doing something with their lives.
Baseball is where they should focus attention on adding the female athlete. (I'm honestly shocked that they haven't had a woman major-league player as of yet.) Shoot, you got MEN wearing all sorts of body armor when they step up to bat; a woman softball player doesn't even do that and softballs are pitched at the same speed. It hurts just as much taking a softball to the thigh as a baseball does.

Tf they're good enough and capable enough then sure, let them play.
Same goes for any sport actually. Really, it's quite shocking that we live in 2014 and there hasn't been a female professional football (english version ) player or basketball player yet. Granted I don't watch Basketball but surely there are some women good enough to play and in football, there definitely are. If Titus Bramble can make a career as a football player then surely some of the women can.

The average height of a male pro-basketball player is 6'7", and the average height of a female pro-basketball player is 5'11". A female being able to dunk consistently was a huge development in the WNBA, so it should explain why it hasn't happened. The average WNBA player would be considered a very short NBA player, and if you're that short you need off-the-charts agility to have a consistent career. There's also the fact that female athletes particularly in jumping sports, get injured more frequently, largely due to biology and biomechanics.

The exact template is even known- A few years ago, there was the female pitcher in Japan who made it to their minor league system, which was helped in large part due to the fact that she was a knuckleballer (which is a relatively rare pitch that's always at a premium.) It's that fact that I'm still convinced the first female baseball player in the US will probably be a knuckleball specialist.
