When do you think TNA will get there own World Title?
Seriously, the "prestige" adds nothing to the belt in TNA really, no one cares, and its not like it has that much prestige anymore. The belt doesnt look that great either and seems really stupid to have a belt with stupid intials...
...I seriously hope its not till 2014 or whenever TNAs contract for it runs out or whatever...

I dunno, I figure the NWA title has to be somewhere, and I'd rather it be somewhere where the belt gets respected, instead of someone using another... "ECW incident" to get themselves over.

They have a 10 year contract with NWA to use the NWA Title. And they just hit the fourth year this past summer. So, six more years. And since most of TNA's fans are hardcore wrestling geeks, it does matter to a large chunk of them that the title has a legacy. You say "NWA Champion", and you instantly evoke images of Lou Thesz, Terry Funk, Harley Race, Ed "Strangler" Lewis, Dusty Rhodes, and a whole host more of classic wrestlers with legacies that cannot be touched. Creating a title out of thin air and saying "This belt means something because we say so" doesn't work; look at the World Heavyweight Championship in WWE. They pulled it out of their asses, handed it to Triple H and expected that to legitimize it. That doesn't work. TNA needed an anchor to their world title to give them weight; the NWA Title did that. Jed Shaffer ~NWA: National Wrestling Alliance. How are those stupid initials?

NJPW use the IWGP title, NOAH use the GHC title, Promotions dont need to use their own initials.

And the IWGP title is Japan's equivalent of the NWA Title in terms of lineage. I have no problemn with them using the NWA belt, I just question the fact that Jarrett has held it more times in TNA's existence than many far greater wrestlers ever held it. But, as Jarrett's the boss.....

I got no problem with the belt besides the person who usually hold it (Jarrett).

The NWA title, is the most prestigeous title in pro wrestling. I can see no reason why anyone would feel the need to get far away from that.

The only 'new title' TNA needs, is a mid card title, ala TV, or US title.

I wouldn't mind an upgrade of sorts being done to tne NWA belt,as that thing is fugly. But other than that, nothing needs to be changed.

The current NWA title looks like a mid-card title. Didn't this NWA only start being used when WCW took over the Big Gold belt? Besides, I believe that this version of the title lost it world title status for a few years.

The NWA title, is the most prestigeous title in pro wrestling. I can see no reason why anyone would feel the need to get far away from that. No its not. Between Jarrett winning it 50 times, a mid carder from WWE coming in and winning it suddenly JUST because hes from WWE, and Shane throwing down the title, its lost alot of the prestige. I say titles like the ROH Title are real prestigeous, cause you HAVE to be great to win it...

I just don't see why the 'fed' is TNA and the belt is 'NWA'.
If TNA were REALLY all "Yay yay NWA is awesome and historical and we love it!", they wouldn't have pulled out of the NWA in the first place in 2002, nor have kept it's current groan-inducing name. (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling? T-Naw?)
I have no problem with their world title being the NWA World title, but at least have some sort of internal continuity about it. Also, the belt can be as old and historical as it wants, but it still looks rubbish in this day and age. Put it in a wrestling museum, not a 21st century wrestling organisation.
As for the ROH World title, now that IS prestigeous. I hope as the years pass, they'll keep booking it as they have. Titles like the NWA and WWE have have really been devalued by bad angles, inconsistencies and the like.

^Yeah the fact that you get it if you can sell merchandise to little kids and the belt gets changed to this toy looking thing so that the company can sell THAT too...

The NWA title is the most respected title in the world. I know Jarrett has held it like 50 times, but at least it hasn't been turned into a spinner like some other world title.
