Except I didn't say Ziggler isn't popular. Please read carefully. Mine is right. Ziggler, while very popular, is not even in the same planet as Punk and Bryan popularity wise. Neither are the guys they actually book on the top.

Nice logic leaps there. He never got the shot to really carry that belt. He won it, got hurt, came back, lost the title, lost the feud to Del Rio, then got jobbed out ever since. And don't say he hasn't been, please. The guy lost a feud to Damien Sandow, post Cena-neutering and gimmick-loss. He's lost to Curtis Axel, clean, multiple times. So he deserves a "fair chance" to carry the belt. So he should be booked ahead of Bryan? Or should they bring back 2 titles? Or maybe 10, just so all these guys can be main event world champions all the time. Edit: I know the response to this is "well now he's jobbing all the time." But when he was close to the top, one of those top 3 or 4 guys, that wasn't enough, there was still whining. He has to be THE guy. As does Bryan, and Punk. No matter where he's booked, there will be whining, unless it's the top guy, and in that case, everybody would be whining that Bryan and Punk aren't the top guy. There is no happiness in that type of wrestling fandom. I guess you only read the part you quoted. I said a credible upper-midcarder around the IC title scene is the right spot for him now. It kills your argument when you just make it "wut, you want higher than Bryan?"

I think people HAVE to believe it because the alternative is that WWE are actually idiotic, out of touch and incompetent. A majority of people believe WWE is majorly incompetent and clueless about the fanbase and society in general. Even in moments when they shown otherwise, it still doesn't kill the mindset. WWE does more than their share of dumb mistakes but I doubt everything is unplanned and not thought out ahead of time. Regular kayfabe doesn't work for a fanbase that was ween on being told it's fake and entertainment. But using the perception of WWE burying everyone whose not John Cena will make even the most diehard smark get emotional invested. If CM Punk didn't walk out, would people be plotting to chant for him to show their anger against the machine? Most here and around the net was bored with him before he walked. Leave and now he's the savior. Daniel Bryan get more tv time than anyone else on the show and is arguably the most over person on the roster, still is considered held down by Triple H and Vince. Dolph was being cheered as a heel even when losing matches left and right. Turn face and start winning, the crowd cheering isn't as loud. But him telling the net that management is trying to stifle his overness, renewed cheers. Kayfabe isn't dead. It just took up a new form. I'd have to ask though, when was that time when he was a face and winning? He turned face at Payback, and since The Authority angle started after Summerslam he's been going down down down. So that's two months as a face for a guy who's been a heel for 5 years straight, and one of those months he lost his rematch to Del Rio. Triple H came out and made him and Miz look like little kids in trouble with their daddy, called Ziggler too small, then he's been done ever since. His fan reaction never had much of a chance to die down before he started getting booked like a complete loser.
