I learned that Steve McMichael is a hall of fame commentatory after watching episode after episode of Raw with Rob Barlett. I look at Mongo in a new light. Speaking of him, I know this might get shit on,but Mongo was better in the ring than I remember. he still wasn't good, but he's not as abysmal as he gets called. Keep him out of the Horsemen and I think he gets less hate. Still better than Roma.

Horseman Roma, a dude entirely out of his depth and hilariously out of place.

I learned that the lyrics for Hogan's WCW theme ("American Made") come directly from what Jimmy Hart said during his portion of the promo before the Hogan/Yokozuna match at King of the Ring 1993.
Seriously. Go and check it. He literally says the first verse.

This was a reminder more than something I learned, but... TOO COOL WAS OVER AS F***.Seriously, I think The Rock was the only guy outpopping them back then. guys like them are a significant reason WWE keeps trying goofy/fun gimmicks

- Former wrestler Paul Jones was the go-to manager in mid-80s NWA. - The existence of wrestler-turned-manager Paul Jones. - The Brisco Brothers deserve all of the love they get. Their match at Starrcade 83 is fantastic. - The early Starrcades were VIOLENT. Starrcade 85 in particular earned that TV-MA rating. - Compared to the NWA, the WWF was insanely tame - tamer than I ever thought. - Dean Ambrose was definitely inspired by Roddy Piper. - Tony Schiavone used his loud, "greatest night in the history of our sport" announcer voice to hide his southern accent. - Mike Awesome worked for ECW in 1994.

Steve Allen was apparently 'really happy to find out that Pee-Wee Herman was straight'.

The European title scene was insane and incomprehensible in 1998. You had D'Lo drop the title to X-Pac on Raw, X-Pac defended it the next week against Val Venis and lost by DQ, and on the same show D'Lo won a six way match to get a title shot the next week which he won leading to a match at the next PPV where X-Pac won it back. And all of that was mixed in with X-Pac vaguely feuding with Jeff Jarrett.

I've learned that ECW had some hidden gems, and that I think I like Tommy Rogers' Tomikaze over Christian's Killswitch.
I'm really enjoying seeing the PPV lineup of ECW, never got to experience it before (I was 8 at the time).

A lot of the jobbers during the early days of Raw went on to bigger things, including Scott Taylor (Scotty 2 Hotty), Glen Ruth (Thrasher), PJ Walker (Justin Credible), Von Krus (Vito), Tony DeVito (was in Da Baldies in ECW), Duane Gill (Gillberg), and Jason Knight (Jason in ECW).

Road Dogg had that hideous, unidentifiable tattoo on the back of his head in 1999.

That a LOT of wrestlers died that were active not 15 years ago.
Royal Rumble 2000 literally at one point had 6 people in the ring, 4 of which were now dead.

Road Dogg had that hideous, unidentifiable tattoo on the back of his head in 1999. I noticed it back then, but couldn't make out what it was until his current run. It's a line of music with musical notes.

Curtis Axel looks a lot more like his father than I thought. I'm watching Superbrawl 99, and Hennig has some stubble on him. Yeah, the resemblance is there.
