They kinda just put him in the slot that Randy Orton was occupying from the time he dropped the title to Miz to when he turned heel/cashed in MITB. That spot should honestly not exist because it does nothing for anyone. I think it varies. When Orton was having decently back-and-forth feuds with Cody and Barrett, that was a good use of him that more of the former champions should be doing. When he was just coming out and beating random guys for no reason... well, that's what Sheamus is doing and it's awful.

I've softened my stance on Sheamus since his return. He is a great worker and the third most over guy on the roster at the moment. He hasn't been as annoying as he was before he got injured either.

Sheamus has the most memorable look of anyone on the roster. You see him once, you hear his name and you remember him forever. Why not let the most memorable looking wrestling in a decade win matches?

Why not let the most memorable looking wrestling in a decade win matches? I think you're misunderstanding. The problem isn't, "Sheamus wins matches." The problem is, "No one ever gets one over on Sheamus and he always wins every single match in every single feud he has."

No story, no real demonstration of character, because he always wins there's no real conflict. Sheamus comes out, wins, walks away.
