Read that, I'm so glad majority of the people in that thread are gone.

I love the poetic nature of the poll as well.

I really think everyone's ideas in that thread highlights how much better he is as Daniel Bryan than as Bryan Danielson.

But the male product in the WWE is pretty fantastic these days.

I don't think he has the "it" factor to make it big in WWE. Punk has is, like this thing that makes fans not knowing him fall in love with him. Danielson is a extremmely good wrestler and given a chance could win people over like Regal but never expect him to be a world champ Man what a God damn idiot, who on earth would think that about the guy that is going to win at Mania 30 TWICE?! officialfan.proboards.com/post/3362139...Oh

It was funny reading it and seeing all the people saying he would never be pushed, never win anything

Not sure what I find funnier, the "sellout" comments or the one poster calling him a "goofball."

"Honestly, who wouldn't want to hear 80,000 people at Wrestlemania either chant "WHOOA. WHOOOOOA. WHOOOOOOOOOOOA!" or, whenever they do a Philly or Chicago show, the always-awesome "YOU'RE GONNA GET YOUR SMURFING HEAD KICKED IN!""
Well congratulations, your dream may come true

"No. All the 10 minute Danielson matches in the world couldn't get me to think this is a good idea. Haven't seen a Punk match since Punk: The Final Chapter. And the last Bryan Danielson match I see will be the one at his tribute show (If he ever sells out). "

God the whole 'indie rules mainstream drools' mindset was a lot more prevalent back then than today wasn't it? So many people saying that he'd be a sellout for going to WWE and that he'd be wasted. Considering the successes of Bryan, Punk, Rollins and Ambrose being an indie darling counts very highly in your favour nowadays.
Also the post about Triple H hating him is awesome.

To be honest, the mindset hasn't really changed... just that a good number of people the IWC was drooling over back then are now under contract with either WWE or TNA. What HAS changed is the confidence we have in WWE to let them keep their overall styles and allow them more freedom in their matches than we assumed they'd have back then. Back on topic, though, I love that you pulled up this thread. It's the epitome of everything I've been thinking since Bryan got so huge. He's the most unlikely guy to get to this point and also, arguably, the most deserving of it. I'd LOVE to do a John Titor and go back in time to post in that thread. Someone posted a letter to FAN in 2009 a few days ago that was absolutely brilliant, so I'm definitely ripping them off with this. But I'd just love to see the amount of anger, confusion, and assurance that I was just making stuff up. "Danielson Is Signed to WWE" - Reaction: "Cautiously Optimistic" "Danielson is put on NXT as a rookie" - Reaction: "....meh, he's not a rookie, but he'll have a chance to shine." "Danielson's pro is The Miz." - Reaction: "WTF?!?!?!! W IN THE ACTUAL F!?!" "Danielson's name is changed to Daniel Bryan" - Reaction: "K... could be worse." "Bryan loses in NXT." - Reaction: "MOTHERf***ER! STUPID WWE!" "Bryan returns in the Nexus and beats down John Cena screaming, "YOU ARE NOT BETTER THAN ME!" before kicking his f***ing head off." - Reaction: "YEAH! THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!" "Bryan is fired." - Reaction: "Definitely too good to be true." "Bryan returns to help WWE against The Nexus" - Reaction: "Wow, great one-time pop... he'll be lost in the shuffle." "Bryan beats The Miz For US Title." - Reaction: ".... yeah this'll fizzle out." "Bryan wins world title from Randy Orton in MITB fashion." - Reaction: "... yeah, two months and it'll be gone." "Bryan loses title in 18 seconds to Sheamus" - Reaction "He'll be released by summer." "Bryan joins Kane in a comedy tag team where the basis is, they don't get along." - Reaction "... buried. He's goddamn buried." "Fans are outraged at the 18 second loss and show verbal support for Bryan after Wrestlemania. " - Reaction "Big deal, not like anything will come of that." "Bryan adopts a "YES!" chant" - Reaction: "Really? Stupid." "Yes! Chant gets over." - Reaction: ".... yeah, like three people in the crowd, right?" "Bryan is handpicked by Cena due to fan reaction as his opponent at Summerslam." - reaction: "Bryan's gonna job." "Bryan wins." - Reaction: "By DQ" "No, cleanly.... " - Reaction: "K, now you're trolling." "Triple H (acting as special ref) blindsides Bryan afterward, Pedigrees him, then demands Randy Orton come down, pins Bryan and claims the title less than two minutes after Bryan wins." - Reaction: "Thatmakes more sense." "Bryan's fan support continues to grow to a level we haven't seen since Austin." -Reaction "Seriously, can we just ban this troll?" "Bryan faces Triple H at Wrestlemania, the winner will face Orton and Batista for the WWE Title at the end of the night." - Reaction: " ?" "Oh yeah, while people are still cautious... it's widely believed that Bryan winning the title at WM is a foregone conclusion." -Reaction "** Dead **"

Loki brings up a good point, guys. I just don't see Danielson being seen as legitimate against Cena, HHH, or Orton.

That post was obviously a work. Triple H had the foresight to know that 6 years later he'd be headlning Mania with the guy, he was just planting the seeds and using our perception of him to get heat.
