I don't personally think this match was anymore slow and plodding than Undertaker's last two matches with Triple H. Those two matches just had more exciting finisher sequences, but I thought both were extremely overrated.
I don't think Taker is done by any stretch. Put him in there with the right guy and he can still steal the show.

This thought just came to me, Brock is The Undertaker of this generation. Taker was the unstoppable monster that was born due to the era, same with Brock

Not sure if it's been noted in the thread but on their radio show Cole and JBL said they didn't know Taker was going to lose. Cole said he was setting up his call as he usually does expecting him to kick out, which perhaps explains the subdued call.

I wonder how many knew. I'm even wondering if Heyman knew.

I was pissed off, as pissed of as anyone else when this happened. However, I began to appreciate the moment after a minute or two.
Who else could've ended the streak? A top-tier star like Cena, HHH, Michaels a few years ago, even a part timer like The Rock, would've felt like the ultimate anti-climax. A new star on the rise...well, that's a huge gamble and if that star fails to maintain overness, then they've wasted the biggest accolade possible.
They picked a big deal, believable opponent who, despite his level of overness/previous accolades, did not seem like he had a chance of winning. It was an incredible moment that needed to happen and I think Brock Lesnar was in the right place to be 'the guy'.
The matter of Lesnar's status as part-timer, only-in-it-for-the-money man...I feel like WWE wouldn't have given it to him without a wider plan. Maybe it's wishful thinking but I can't help but expect that they'll cash in on this.

You know what I don't get?
Yeah, Brock is a part-timer, but so is Undertaker.

I knew they had a radio show, but do they always speak freely about things like that, like breaking kayfabe and whatnot? Where would I find their show?

www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/26934095Dunno if this has been brought up but it's currently the most read story on the BBC website right now. (it's newsbeat but still.)

So first, we get months of complaining that Brock's looked like a bitch since he came back. "Why pay him all that money to job him out?"
Then he wins at Mania and puts the streak to rest and everyone complains because Lesnar won. This is hilarious. You're so brave and I want to grow up to be just like you!

Really only two people could have ended it and made sense, Brock or Cena. The Streak wouldn't have "made" anyone. If anything, it would be such an impossible standard to live up to and be "The One". You needed it to be someone who could carry that weight and not have to worry about then having a career worthy of that title. And unless Cena was going to go heel, Brock's the perfect choice.

I wont be surprised if it was those powerbomb that Lesnar did when he was trap in Hell Gate. Pretty sure it was before that but it didn't help. Taker was already sloppy and stumbling around looking like he didn't know where he was at even before that happened. That being said, the impact on the second one was pretty nasty and probably made it worse. He hit him with a german suplex right at the beginning and I think that was it.

You know what I don't get? Yeah, Brock is a part-timer, but so is Undertaker. Not even. At least Brock wrestles at Summerslam, Extreme Rules and shows up on some Raws.

No, 5/10 mins into the match, the two are outside the ring. This is after Brock has worked Takers leg and wrapped it round the ring post. Brock grabs one of Undertaker's legs and then slams Taker back hard onto the mats outside the ring with some MMA looking leg trip/slam. After that Taker is out of it.

I thought it was the belly-to-belly over head right at the beginning that knocked him silly. The camera zoomed in and he had a far and away look in his eyes. Then when Brock clotheslined him over the top, they both stopped and stared for a bit.

The way I imagine this all going down beforehand.
Vince: You've given so much Taker. Let me know if you want to retire undefeated or give the win to someone.
Taker: I'm done Vince. I've given a lot of thought and I want to give it to Brock.
Vince: No problem Mark. We'll make it work.
