I've seen this being said around the block and I don't get it. He works hard, he sells well, he worked injured when he didn't need to and job whenever he was asked too.
The only strike against him seems to be his hate with all the travel but he never took that frustration out by mailing it in his matches.

I really don't know either. Maybe he made comments years ago that would indicate it, but I don't see how you could say he hates it now. If he did, he wouldn't be back. He doesn't need this. Even if he came back "just for the money", he wouldn't be busting his ass and having the level of matches he has against Cena and Punk, and one of the Hunter fights. He's going all out every time. This pretty clearly matters a little bit to him.

I think I remember reading in an interview with someone (maybe it was Heyman) years ago that Brock likes entertaining people, but hates the travel and some of the other things that go along with the business.

I think it's actually worse than this. People have taken Brock not necessarily having huge passion for the business and decided that means he is an asshole who takes liberties in the ring and hates losing. Rock gets similar treatment as some prima dona who won't lose just because he found an alternative career path. It's founded on basically nothing except daring to prefer a career which doesn't kill you at 40.

I've never got that impression. He doesn't love it at the expense of his own happiness, that's for sure. It's not even his dream career by any means.
He respects it, clearly. He also have a love for it and he realizes that he has a knack for it. This allows him to make a lot of money and enjoy a fulfilling career on his terms.
Lesnar respects the business and I think it's fair to say that he loves it. He just primarily hates the grind of a traditional travel schedule.
People also think that he's really a mean Monster who enjoys hurting people for no reason. Every thing else I know about the guy seems to say he's a relatively soft-spoken farm boy who loves his family.

I think a lot of fans resent him for leaving the WWE at the top of his mega push to go and do other things. I don't feel that way, personally, but I think that's what a lot of fans think.

My issue with Brock is that he ruined it for everyone who came after him by leaving. WWE keeps killing people's pushes and shunting guys into irrelevance simply because they're afraid of someone "pulling a Lesnar". The least Brock can do is try to make it up to the roster for that.

To be fair, Lesnar hardly invented the "leaving the company that made you" move. |

I don't think Brock Lesnar hates the business or anything.
But even if he did if he comes out and entertains the fans what does it matter if he's passionate or not?
It would be like going in to mcdonalds and complaining the staff member that served you has no passion for the business or company and is only there for the paycheck, what does it matter? you got your food and they got their paycheck. everyones got what they want who cares about "passion"

I don't get it either, there's such venom that hat he hates this business, doesn't care, and all that. Bottom line is, though, the guy works his ass off when he's there. Every time he gets attacked on TV he manages to take some insane bump where he nearly kills himself flipping around and landing on his head. Yeah, he's a part-timer and doesn't wrestle much, but he sure as hell doesn't phone it in.

NAW, that's on WWE if they're too skittish to take a risk. They shouldn't have put all their eggs in the Lesnar basket in the first place because even if he wasn't going to leave, the guy could've broken that space where his neck would be and his career could've ended at any point. Lesnar doesn't owe them shit. All the man can do is come in, put on good matches and not kill himself or other people in the ring and he's done that by-and-large. Though I think Brock's reputation might come from a lot of the old school guys who don't look too kindly on Brock being in it just for the money. I know Jim Cornette doesn't think too highly of him because of it. |

He hated the lifestyle when he left the first time. I think the unprofessionalism in-ring perception comes from the Bob Holly injury/incident. Just my opinion, but Holly was the unprofessional one there.

It's because Brock was honest about being in it for the money. So that equates to "He doesn't love dis business" even though he actually does come with his A-Game 99% of the time (Wrestlemania XX being the exception.) He hated the lifestyle when he left the first time. I think the unprofessionalism in-ring perception comes from the Bob Holly injury/incident. Just my opinion, but Holly was the unprofessional one there. I wouldn't wish what happened to Bob Holly on anyone, but dude brought it on himself. |

Brock's issue was more the travel, and the politics. He also didn't like when some would take liberties in the ring at times (shoot interviews mention how Matt Hardy did a shoot chair shot to his head when he first debuted as a main thing that made Brock have trust issues with some people). I know Brock also has said he'd hate how they'd change what was happening and not tell him until right before his match.

See the disgust with the Rock because he chose to "selfishly" make a career in Holllywood where he could make more doing one film than a whole year of busting his arse and destroying his body for the pleasure of Wrestling fans.
