Hercules was in the very first match on the very first Starrcade.
Before Wrestlemania, Saturday Night's Main Event or even The War To Settle the Score, WWF's first big nationwide-televised "event" was the Brawl To End It All. Only the main event was shown on MTV - Wendi Richter vs. Moolah. It set MTV viewing records for the time, garnering a 9.0 Nielsen rating.
Sgt. Slaughter and Bob Backlund were both still with the WWF when the Rock N Wrestling Connection started.

That's pretty tremendous.

Of the 18 Superstars (possibly 19, depending on the New Day) involved in the two Elimination Chamber matches at Elimination Chamber 2015, at least 12 will be making their Chamber debuts.
Anyone got any other facts/stats for this year's Elimination Chamber?

Shockingly, this is the third time the WWE Title has been defended in a 1 on 1 match, but the first including two full time active roster members
CM Punk vs The Rock The Miz vs Jerry Lawler

Haha, not saying I agree with him just thought it was interesting that he felt that strongly about it. As far as Gracie/Shamrock goes though Shamrock wasn't really a wrestler at that point IIRC. He had done some work here and there as a pro wrestler, but was always promoted as a shoot fighter rather than an amateur/pro wrestler. True, shoot fighting and wrestling aren't that different, but if you ask me neither are wrestling and BJJ in the grand scheme of things. Also, I don't think Gracie beating Shamrock is the best example. True, Gracie beat him pretty handily in the first fight, but in the second fight (which is as dull as dirt) Shamrock essentially dominated and probably would've won if it was allowed to go 3 hours or however long that ungodly borefest would have lasted.

From last night's PPV:
Until Ryback won the Intercontinental Championship, there had not been a first-time champion to win the Intercontinental Championship more than one year outside of their WWE "rookie year" since 2001 (when both Test and Albert did it with 1999 debuts, 2001 victory.)
Those same qualifications of "first-time champion after more than their second year in WWE" had not happened for a wrestler for the United States Championship since R-Truth (2001/2008, 2010) or for the WWE's World Heavyweight Title since Sycho Sid (1991, 1996)- but it's happened five times in the last two years on the tag/women's ranks (both Usos, Damien Mizdow, Kaitlyn, and AJ Lee).

If I'm understanding what you're saying, I don't think that's accurate at all for the WWE title.

To understand the stat better -The title reign has to be their first title reign in WWE -That reign has to happen more than two years after they debuted in WWE. So, with Sycho Sid- yes, he debuted in WWE in 1991, then won his first championship, the WWF Title, in 1996 (and indeed, Kane, who debuted in 1995, but won his first title, the WWF Title, in 1998- also fits the role.).

Road Warrior Hawk and the Bulldog were pissed out of their minds at Summerslam 92. Ellering said he was worried Hawk was going to crash his bike, and when Bret contacted Bulldog to plan for their match a couple of days before, he said "I'm fooked, mate". When Bret asked why, he replied "I've been smokin' crack with Jim [Neidhart] all summer".
