If the first words uttered on WWE tv by the announcers when he shows up are anything but "IT'S STING!" then his run is going to be a huge disappointment

That bird he used to hold Hogan hostage in TNA flew off with the contract.

Sting would be an idiot not to sign it, the WWE already owns the part of his career that is worth a damn. The largest and most influential part of his career, no doubt. Saying it's the only part of his career that is worth a damn isn't fair, though. The vast majority of his work in TNA is totally worth a damn and something that he and his fans should be proud of.

The crazy thing about this is that the streak ending *helps* a Taker match at Wrestlemania. With the streak out of the way, in the fans' minds, there's actually a possibility going into it that Taker might not win.
Factor that into a retirement match and you've got something HUGE.

If rumors are true they just have him as GM and doing stuff for the Network and DVD's I don't even really want him as GM. Network and DVD stuff would/will be great though.

Sting should just retire. Why would the WWE be interested in a 55-year-old man who hasn't looked very great for the past several months? Because he's one of the biggest stars of all-time and Vince McMahon didn't have a single hand in creating him. I hope they sign him just for the potential Sting documentary/blu-ray set. Also while he hasn't looked good, going to WWE for one match against Taker means he'd bust his ass. Look at RVD in TNA he didn't give a shit, and half-assed it, in WWE he's actually trying. WWE would make sure that Sting gets in shape for a match against Taker.

People don't sign contracts without them being looked over by lawyers -- even if his lawyers were in on negotiating the deal and were approving language, the final submitted contract needs to be gone over word by word, line by line.
I can't tell you how many times I know of cases in my business where contract terms were agreed to ... and then the contract gets submitted with a key agreed-upon point or language change. It's always, "Oops, our bad, must have sent the wrong one." Which is why the lawyers need to look it over.
That can take several days if the contract is more than one or two pages ... or if they found something disagreeable and a new one had to be drawn up with changed language.

Funny, I'm sure that just before Mania Sting had 'definitely signed a deal.'
I will believe this the second Sting shows up on TV or in a DVD interview, until then, I don't believe it.

I wonder what Meltzer and co. are going to write about when Sting finally signs. "As of right now, we don't know if Sting has chosen the Mexican or Italian dinner entree. Our inside sources indicated that Sting was leaning towards enchiladas, but then changed his mind to the lasagna rolls. We're told that he was very very close to agreeing to the lasagna rolls, but told the waiter to come back in 10 minutes. We'll keep you posted as this decision draws near." I am greatly intrigued by these lasagna rolls you speak of.

This may be selfish. I just want an eilte Crow Sting action figur with long hair, trench coat, black bat, and a whc spray painted with NWO on it. A surfer sting to go with my robo cop. A surfer sting with the brownish hair when he was transitioning to the crow gimmick. And a wolf pack sting.

I wouldn't like to see him defeat Taker...21-2 would be cruel.
Maybe it's because I've never been a big NWA/WCW fan or that he's come from LOLTNA, but Sting to me doesn't really seem like one of the biggest stars ever. I just don't see what's been so special about him. He had classics with Flair? great. He ranks below guys like Taker,Hogan,Austin,Savage and even HBK.

I'm pretty sure that wrestlers only sign contracts when they are in the ring and they don't even read them. And it's only legally binding once someone goes through a table.
