High-flyers should high-fly.
One thing I appreciate is the exponentially improving art of "pretend you're hurt but really subtly move into position to catch the other person when he jumps out of the ring." That stuff's really getting good.

I read this as "suicide divas" at first. I didn't, but Lita's first match back and her suicide dive, I thought she was dead. They really undersell that, even if it appears in all her promo packages now, I thought for sure she snapped her neck, again.

I am a fan of any move that is athletic and pops a crowd. Which they still do.
Put it this way, I'd rather see a lot of cool dives, then see them disappear completely like they were for awhile, when pretty much every cool high rick move was being banned.

I remember thinking Punk had really checked out about a week before he left when he did a suicide dive on Billy Gunn.
It was the slowest safest suicide dive I'd ever seen and I thought his heart wasn't in it anymore.

I read this as "suicide divas" at first. Suicide Girls meet the Divas photoshoots? ...somebody suggest this to the greater internet. Immediately.

I hate the Suicide Dive where the user of the move gets up as if they didn't just essentially dive head first at a 250+ pound object Especially when they were getting destroyed the whole match beforehand. I think at Mania Bryan was getting his ass kicked, then did TWO suicide dives in succession immediately and I hated it since he pretty much no sold the beating, then no sold the first dive. Yeah yeah adrenaline and all that, but I think there comes a point where it just becomes straight up no selling on too high of a scale. He's not the only one who's done it, but it's the most recent example I can think of You must hate AR Fox. Hey now, there's no need to throw homophobia accusations around.

There was a guy who was a bit like Bryan who used to do a good one.
Can't remember his name. Did a headbutt too.

I'm in favor of them in the right situation with the right guy and right now I feel like the right guys are doing them.
Bryan? He's kind of a lunatic. I can buy him flying at people with reckless abandon. The Shield's whole thing is that they're a chaotic mess that takes advantage of things when they're at their nuttiest, I buy Rollins and Ambrose doing them. Harper? That big nutcase is half gone in the skull. He'd totally do it.

I would like them better if they added bowling pin sound effects

Bret Hart used to have some good, gritty looking dives. They really should only be used in desperation(unless the guy's character is that he's a big show off like HBK or ECW era RVD), and I agree that the Seth Rollins type of dives need to go.

I love them, but they scare the hell out of me when done by someone who has no real business of executing it (Harper, though it is impressive). Rollins in particular I'm afraid he's going to land badly on an ankle or something.

My new favourite Suicide Dive variation after having been at SHIMMER this weekend - the FORCED Suicide Dive - where you take your opponent, throw them out of the ring, where they then take out everyone on the outside with the dive.

I love seeing a good suicide dive, but there is such a thing as overkill.

The suicide dive spot should belong to Bryan nowadays. It works as a good high-flying spot for him. You are totally right: It is way overused currently.
But yeah, how many people have done this in the last couple of years? Bryan, Rollins, Ambrose, Harper, Punk, Undertaker (though I believe he skipped it this Mania), the Bellas (at least at WrestleMania), probably Sin Cara--not to mention obligatory spots during tag team matches/Money in the Banks/Lumberjack matches where one person suicide dives or jumps onto a batch of people on the outside. (This is a common thing for Cena to do.)

I watch PWG. I am completely OK with suicide dives as long as people use them because they can, rather then because it's an in-thing right now.

Through-the-ropes suicide dives really don't make sense in terms of impact, because the surface area of the head and forearms, the areas in which most suicide dives connect, is far smaller than the torso if someone is doing something like a plancha or an over-the-top-rope suicide dive, the latter which maximizes body surface area because of the height one must jump to clear the ropes, thereby subsequently increasing the level of impact.
They are overall illogical, but make logical sense given the already wacky nature of wrestling storytelling.
