It shows how, not exactly disliked but discarded Miz is that the first mention of him brings about 'huh? no.' The history would make it worthwhile and it'd be better than Kane, who no believes is winning either. The matches would be better as I don't think Bryan and Kane have much chemistry as a opponents. Believe me, I've always really liked Miz, but no. He's been booked horribly. He's not the same performer he was when he was a top heel. He also looks heavier and has sloppy slicked back hair. Overall appears like absolutely no threat to even Santino, let alone the guy who just made Batista tap and pinned Cena, Orton, and HHH clean. If they built him up as an aggressive cocky heel then I'd love it. But that will take time. Right now he's just a sloppy, awkward tweener.

Miz has looked like he's aged a decent amount in the last few months but if WWE committed to it and if Mike did, I think it'd be really good. They wouldn't even have to go down the predictable jealousy route right away. I'm still pissed that we didn't get a moment of the two helping each other during the endless Authority feud.

I want to see Bryan handpick his opponent the same way that Cena chose him. as long as he picks Cesaro

I really think Kane and Miz are equally terrible choices for DB's first title defense. Unless they're going for a scene like this down the line: HHH: YOU AINT BEEN HUNGRY SINCE YA WON THAT BELT! Bryan: Whaddya talkin bout, I've had ten title defenses. HHH: THAT WAS EASY! Bryan: Whaddya mean 'easy'? HHH: THEYWAS! HANDPICKED! I know Rocky 3 was on yesterday, so I'm almost certain you were watching it here. I do agree with you though, Kane and Miz are completely awful choices for defenses on a PPV.

When Eddie won the title from Brock, I couldn't believe it. Child nonrev then made up his mind that only if Eddie could beat the Big Show clean via pinfall could he truly be considered the champion. When he did lil' nonrev never doubted Eddie again.
I would have played up Big Show not as a heel, but as the guy that wants the title. He knows Bryan can't stop him and he'll k.o. whoever he has to to get it. Have show explain that Bryan has only ever beat him in the past through trickery, but wasn't ever man enough to beat him 1-on-1 with no interference/count out/dq. I'm sure the lil' nonrev's of the present would love to see just how Bryan could get high enough to do the "knee that beat john cena" to a giant.
Beating Big Show clean is still worth a great deal of credibility to any new champ.
Of course when Muhammad Hassan beat the Big Show lil' nonrev knew he would be the next big thing as well. If only...

The real issue here is that Bryan's already been "made" in a short period of time. After you no-sell a table spot and beat 3/4th of Evolution in one night for the world title in the Mania main event after an long and agonizing feud, then get put over personally by Hulk Freaking Hogan two nights later before marrying your sweetheart and going on an extended honeymoon, not to mention getting some decent mainstream attention along the way, there aren't many brass rings left for you to grab. That was the climax of an epic movie trilogy.
Even if EvoThority wasn't busy with Shield and the Wyatts weren't occupied with Cena, there's still only so much they can do with Bryan right now. They've already pushed him faaaaaarrrrr beyond how they did Punk during his reign, maybe even to the point where he could retire right now and still be a lock for the HOF.

The challenge now for Bryan is whether he can hang tough as champion as he did while chasing the title. Basically, kinda like how in Punch-Out!!, where Little Mac has to face the opponents he's beaten before, all of whom have new tricks up their sleeves and are more powerful than before.

I don't know about that, man. Going by that logic, Cena could have retired a long time ago. It's Bryan's first real run with the title; his first uninterrupted, undiluted, moment in the sun. It's just a question of will WWE do something interesting with it because they certainly can.

Brodus Clay starts wrestling with a manhole cover taped to his chest or no buys.

It can't be too hard to book heels against Bryan.
Extreme Rules - I guess Kane or put both in the faction warfare for a 8 man tag.
Payback - Triple H
Money In The Bank - Bray Wyatt (if he moves on from Cena)
Battleground - Cesaro
SummerSlam - Brock Lesnar
Now if he defeats Lesnar
Night of Champions - John Cena (maybe have CM Punk return and attack both Cena and Bryan
Hell in The Cell - Triple threat with Punk/Cena/Bryan
Survivor Series - CM Punk (if he returned)
TLC - no idea
Royal Rumble - Loses to Brock Lesnar

There should be no specific rival for the next year.
Just be a fighting champion. Everyone gets their shot, especially guys who need the rub and exposure.
Have him go out to the ring and say "I was held down for too long because no one thought I deserved my shot at the big time. But now I'm the champion. I proved them wrong, and there are many other guys back there who are in the same position I was in. They deserve their shot too, so I'm here to say that I will be a fighting champion. Whoever wants a title match with me, is welcome to have one. I'll take on anyone, anytime, anywhere. An open invitation to anyone who has had people telling them they weren't good enough to be in the spotlight"

Given Cena, Bray, Orton, HHH,and Batista are tied up there needs to be a build one way or the next towards whomever it is gonna be. A returning CM Punk works whenever and if ever it occurs. Whether it is "realistic" or not, any of the former world champs fits the bill (except Khali of course ). All it takes is a storyline. I'll admit that I'm confused as to any natural seeming candidate though. I would personally like them see them dust off one of the former champs they've booked like garbage and return some guy or guys to a degree of legitimacy that I personally feel they've wasted. I think this situation just amplifies, for me, a depressing situation. Cross our fingers and hope I guess :/
