Yeah I agree with that
When the guest character makes sence, fine not a problem.
I thought Freddie Krueger fit in the mk game nicely, heck so did Kratos.
But Darth Vader and Yoda in Soul Calibur?... Just no.

Link and Spawn I think actually blend well into Soul Calibur
Heihachi not so much.

Link and Spawn I think actually blend well into Soul Calibur Heihachi not so much. Ironic given that he's the one made by the same company as Soul Calibur (and isn't even the first crossover character, since Yoshimitsu IIRC is in both.)

I thought kratos did well as a guest character, considering in his own game series he's a blood thirsty murdering psychopath.
if they pick a character to put in that fits the series then I'm for it as long as it's free dlc with the game or on disc (free, not Capcom style).

I still hope they eventually resurrect Jade. She has a lot of potential to be a very unique character as has the bodyguard dynamic between her Kitana. I was really hoping for something like Kitana becoming a pretender to the throne of Outworld with Jade being her right hand/champion/general. Then again, since we last saw her under Quan Chi's control, there may still be potential for her to show up as a full blown character while still technically being dead. And again, we have lots of potential for a great story between her and Kitana. Maybe being resentful of her for somehow escaping Quan Chi while Jade remain a slave in the Netherrealm, or maybe still liking her but being unable to fight Quan Chi's control, forcing her to fight her friend against her own will.

Read the last sentence of that Kitanna picture , Jade is most likely the Kombat DLC It just seems to imply it gives Mileena new special attacks. But even if it hinted at a DLC character, it would probably just be MK2 Jade again or something similar, not a full character with her own story and stuff.

Yeah, so I can't get the first video to load. Are Brutalities combo finishers?

They look quite cool but I'm just trying to tell the context in which you'd be using them. They look more akin to the stage fatalities of what was it, Deception? where they could be triggered at any time versus waiting for the "Finish Him".
I like all this but between this and the character variations I'm worried about MK falling into the same traps of MK:D and MK:A and getting too gimmicky.

Yeah, so I can't get the first video to load. Are Brutalities combo finishers? you enhance special moves and throws so that they're fatal. So they're not combos but you can combo into them. Raiden for instance can usually EX his flying tackle to add a teleporting punch to it, but in the Brutality version, after teleporting, he reappears inside the opponent, blowing them apart. TL;DR, they're Fatalities on the Go.

The Brutalities actually remind me of an old arcade fighting game called Time Killers where you could pull off a combo and insta-kill your opponent. They mentioned that they were going for something like that so it's probably intentional, but I dunno. I just kinda hope that it's not something that can be abused since they showed it ending the entire fight in the first round. I know that they probably have all the triggers memorized and all, but still.
