Well they do suck mostly. But there's a reason wrestling factions don't split amicably. Nobody is going to pay to see a group of guys part ways nicely. So you have to break them up, and I'm glad its the main focus of raw. And explain to me why they need to split? Because they want to push someone as a single's star? Fine!! Do it!! You can do that while they're part of a faction. The only difference is you'd be pushing fresh talent as part of a faction, as opposed to what they've done in the past; Flair in the Horseman was already a top talent, Hogan in the nWo was already a top talent, Triple H in Evolution was already a top talent. Instead, they're so antsy to break the Shield cherry, they completely f*** it up. You want a better story? Have one of the guys win the title, THEN cause the split...that would make a whole hell of a lot more sense. And you know what? We'd be guaranteed to push at least 2 talents. What we have right now, only one person is likely going to benefit...and that's Reigns. It's shitty writing. It's the same shitty writing we're used to.

The guys you mention were proven single stars capable of being champ, whereas the shield are not, and maybe in order for them to progress they need a singles run to test their mettle. The only time I can recall this not happening, and the alternative scenario you propose happened, it was Randy Orton in Evolution and that didn't go as well as they'd hoped.

The only time I can recall this not happening, and the alternative scenario you propose happened, it was Randy Orton in Evolution and that didn't go as well as they'd hoped. That was because Triple H immediately turned on him and took back the title. I would do something like this... Reigns wins the WWE title... Reigns starts getting featured more prominently, despite the fact that Rollins and Ambrose save his ass several times... Ambrose is seen backstage looking at the title...hypnotized... Ambrose decides that Reigns thinks he's bigger than the Shield, Roman disagrees, Seth plays peacemaker (sound familiar?) Ambrose walks out, Rollins eventually turns on Reigns...Triple Threat for the title...Ambrose or Rollins wins. So right there...you have at least two guys benefiting no matter what, with more at stake and more of a reason to turn.

Rollins probably got the nod for the turn because he will bump like a madman for Roman Reigns.

I would have loved to seen the mayhem created if during that part where HHH was smiling with his arms around Orton & Rollins, he ate an RKO. The internet may have exploded.

I have to say it and maybe it is a result of being softened in the PG era but Rollins' chair shots looked waaaaay to hard. He must have known what they would do. You do not bruise up and make someone swell like Reigns seems to have without any idea what is going on. I don't know if it was adrenaline or what but I hope he isn't given a chair again any time soon. I thought the marks on Reigns' back were from the shirtless caining he received at Payback. He tweeted a picture after RAW showing even more bruising and swelling that was a result of the chair shots.

Eh, I'll wait and see what Rollins' explanation is before I completely lose my mind. If it's something that makes sense, like he did it for the money, the power, the boobs, etc., I'll be okay with it. I mean, stuff like that corrupts.
But if he says something stupid like he did it to be on the winning team, I'll be screaming at the TV, "YOU WERE ON THE WINNING TEAM!!! YOU BEAT THESE GUYS THE LAST TWO PAY-PER-VIEWS!!!! WHAT THE F*** IS WRONG WITH YOU?!!!"

Another Monkey's Paw wish granted. Last week, the board complain how boring the Shield/Evolution feud was. How WWE is putting all the focus on making Roman Reigns the star of the Shield. How everything is so predictable and stagnant. If anyone was going to turn from the Shield, it would be Ambrose. Especially when that WWE Magazine blurb came out. WWE threw a curveball that no one can say they saw coming. Now was this a good move? It's way too early to make call but I feel it is. Rollins already mixed it up with the main eventers and showed he can go toe to toe. He passed the Cena test. His mic skills are no longer a weakness. While I'm going to miss SETH METAL! going all out, he now is in a big money position. This will be the thing that makes him a bonafide main eventer or cement him as a midcard gatekeeper. I'm confident he'll overachieve.
I look at the Shield as the Conan felt after conquering the world. What was left for them to conquered? They bashed up the Wyatts in head to head competition. Won the tag and US titles. Dominated Evolution. All three couldn't go after the World title as a trio. While they operated as a cohesive unit, the cracks have been showing the last year. Every time they got close to the brink, Seth was the one to bring them back from the edge. Ironically the guy who believed in the Shield the most is the one to strike a deathblow to it.

I'm totally cool with the Shield breaking up, and Rollins being groomed by Hunner. I thought the timing and writing aspects were off, it's been months since there was any dissention. If Seth was brooding all this time, knowing he was going to screw over Dean and Roman at some point, he would've turned on them during one of the matches of Evolution. If Hunner got to him that day on Raw, then I guess the story is Seth was just itching to sell out all this time or that he's easily influenced and weak minded.

yeah i'm in the this is pretty dumb camp on this one. If this was Trip's plan B whatever he said to rollins to make him turn happened between when batista quit at the start of the show and the end of the show. Maybe triple h managed to kidnap his family or something in the course of the couple hours. If it was so easy to get rollins to turn maybe he should have did what he did two months ago and made it plan A.
Will make for some good matches though so there's that i guess. From a storyline standpoint though, i just can't think of how they are going to make this believable.
yep. pretty dumb.

Sheamus is too big for Evolution. On paper, he's equal to Orton and HHH and the "Batista" role would be a step backwards for him.

I wonder: could Rollins end up being a plant to take down Evolution from the inside, like Punk was back when he joined the New Breed in ECW? It's been 7 years since they did that angle.
