I wonder: could Rollins end up being a plant to take down Evolution from the inside, like Punk was back when he joined the New Breed in ECW? It's been 7 years since they did that angle. A lot of posters have suggested that Rollins is a mole, but there's no real reason for him to do that. They already beat Evolution decisively and would've now had a 3 on 2 advantage with Batista quitting. They already won. Rollins turning is the only reason the feud is still going.

Sheamus is too big for Evolution. On paper, he's equal to Orton and HHH and the "Batista" role would be a step backwards for him. Ohhh now I see what you mean, I thought it was about replacing the 2014 Batista.

I'd imagine the main reason why it was Rollins who turned heel is that he was the guy most likely to get lost in the shuffle after the inevitable Shield split, so they decided to try and put the heat on him so they have three legit new singles main-eventers rather than two. Reigns is designated to be the "next big thing" on the face side of things, and Ambrose's mic work, selling and facials indicate that he'll more than hold his own as a singles star, face or heel.
This way they have someone to fit into the heel side of things on top of the card, and Reigns and Ambrose stay on the face side feuding with the Authority alongside Cena and Bryan. Ambrose brings something different compared to the other faces I've just mentioned, and Seth stands out on the heel side compared to HHH and Randy.

and now I am like... Still sad about this. One of the (if not the) greatest stable in history gets broken up, way before they needed to be. They could have at least got to Mania. So many brilliant matches over the run and so many classics, I have said this earlier in the thread but there better be a 2 or 3 disc match compilation set of Shield released in the future. Maybe Roman and Dean carry on for a while to face NewEvolution. Maybe they get a new member like Zayn/Neville/Crowe but it won't be the same, yeah it could be great and I mark for those guys I mentioned (especially Zayn) but it won't be the original . I would have honestly turned Roman if it was needed to be done now (which apparently it was accordig to them). Everyone knows HHH/Vince love him and are grooming him, so why not have him take Batistas place to have him by HHHs side to learn stuff from him. Hoss for hoss. Dean and Rollins become superfaces along with Bryan in the process both individually and as a team, and add Zayn to the team. There, done. Rollins had the most face upside of the group as well, and I loved how he was shocasing more and more of his indy high flying moves. Hell as another poster said he arguably is near the top in the roster for most face applicable move set. It just makes more sense for me for them to turn Roman, both in none kayfabe terms (them being really high on him/HHH taking him under his wing) and in kayfabe (well as much as any of the Shield memnbers turning on each other at this point in time anyway, not a lot but still). Dean will do great face or heel and he has a character there. Give him promo time in his singles career and he is there. That's why I think you should keep him face for however long possible, as I would want him to become the heel once he does turn. Become the Joker to Cena/rest of the WWE.

Interesting idea, but I can't see them using War Games for SummerSlam. A variation on that bout would be perfect for the Battleground event though. You could have HHH/Orton/Rollins/Kane vs. Bryan/Reigns/Ambrose/Cena, which segues into a SummerSlam line-up of Bryan/Lesnar, HHH/Reigns, Ambrose/Rollins and Cena/Orton/Batista.
* takes off fantasy booking hat.

I'm not sure why some people think Zayn as a member of The Sheild would work. He's a fantastic wrestler, but he's way too happy go lucky to be aligned with Ambrose and Reigns.

Well, at least Evolution now has a third member that can wear matching black gear.

I'd bring in the Ascension as the new SHIELD members. Their gimmick is too crap to get over in WWE, but if Reigns and Ambrose replace Rollins with TWO guys, that would put them back on the front foot, not to mention provide two NXT guys with ready made gimmicks that will instantly be over. Have them make the save when Reigns/Ambrose are on the verge of getting a monumental arsekicking from Orton/HHH/Rollins. Then they'll do that fist salute thing with Reigns and Ambrose and the crowd will go apeshit.

It's not like NXT Rollins feels like he would have been a good fit either but here we are. At least Rollins stopped flailing his arms around like a nut-case.

I can accept The Shield breaking up but Rollins joining HHH & Orton after beating their asses is like LeBron leaving Bosh & Wade behind in Miami to join the Pacers.

FLAT NO to ever putting another member in The Shield. If Rollins is gone, so should the Shield.

You wouldn't even accept Sting? The Man They Call? They very one. I would lose my mind if they all descended from the rafters together and I don't even like The Shield that much.

I am still sad that it is over, at least this version of Shield (depending what they do). It feels terrible, the amount of change they have brought to WWE within the time, made everyone pick up their game in the ring to keep up both individually and in teams and the sheer volume of great/brilliant/classic matches is staggering. R.I.P Shield Gone too soon, could have easily gone another year (especially as faces, they have now not got the most out of face Shield as they could have done). Would have loved for them to go to 31 (at the very least) as faces and to have had a feud with Lesnar/Heyman. But oh well as the title of the Community theme says, "Atleast it was here". Undoubtedly a legendary run, a legendary/HOF team and just an astounding starting couple of years to all the mens careers in the main roster of WWE.

Christ, that means that Roman will likely be a double inductee at that point.

Forget putting HHH into a time machine (idea from another thread), wish we could toss The Shield into one and have them face off against the Horsemen & Freebirds before splitting up.

The Shield breaking up doesn't bug me as it seems to bug others (though I get why it does), but I really thought Ambrose should have been the one to turn.
I am looking forward to seeing it play out, though I never have great hopes with "Creative."
