MTV Celebrity Deathmatch hasn't aged well. When I was a teenager, It was really funny to see the creative ways they would fight and kill each other. Most of the jokes are horribly dated by now and the less said on the reboot, the better.

It's completely a question of how much effort was put forth and how much of a budget a show had. If it was made well, it holds up, but if it wasn't, it doesn't. Most of the Hanna-Barbera and Filmation shows from the '70s have aged terribly to the point of being practically unwatchable, but they were designed to be cheap, disposable kiddie fare without a wider appeal. Shows like DuckTales, Animaniacs, and Ren & Stimpy are as good now as they were then, and often gain something by watching them through adult eyes. One show that held up incredibly well that I wish got more love than it does is the Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat. Seconded. That was what a Felix feature film should have looked like.

90s Spider-Man and X-Men are interesting cases in that their animation limitations and over the top voice acting have become a bit eye roll worthy, but stories and characters are still pretty solid, and you can see how groundbreaking they were in western cartoons in doing long story arcs and development of relationships. I was coming in here to say X-Men TAS. The animation and voice acting are pretty rough to sit through nowadays, but yeah, the stories and characters still hold pretty well today. And of course, that intro is STILL one of the hypest intros after all these years.

I still enjoy HM , Defenders of Earth , MASK , Gadget , Bravestarr.....sure the stock footage is kinda annoying but I'll live.
If anything's bad it's those "made-for-TV" toons like 60s Popeye (not as entertaining as the 30s-50s era) , T & J (those ep's in space and with that shark etc)

IMO The Tick as a genre savvy superhero parody still holds up pretty well today.

Batman TAS has aged really well. I was coming here to say that both that and Superman the Animated Series hold up really well. On the flip side, X-Men and especially Spider-Man have aged more roughly. The story telling over all was pretty solid but the animation budget, voice acting, and in the case of Spider-Man, censorship have taken their tolls on the shows.

I find the first season or so of Family Guy to be pretty unwatchable now. As much flack as their current stuff gets I enjoy the more polished product a lot more.

Then again this is a thread about cartoons aging well or not. I'm pretty sure the 1980s Popeye was always viewed as shit.

The 60s (KFS) Popeyes get a bad rap. Yes they were cheap, yes they were not Fleischer or Famous, but they did bring back many Thimble Theatre costars. And was IMO the only cartoon to do Wimpy right, voice and all. And the KFSs are the first Popeyes for a LOT of people.

I always knew there was something off about Sylvester vs. Speedy Gonzales, and now I know why. Sylvester vs. Speedy wasn't that bad to me. DAFFY vs. Speedy, however... I was going to say Daffy, but was not 100% sure I was remembering that right. But yeah, that was from the same (brief) era of not-so-hot Looney Tunes.

I'm not sure about the show itself since I haven't an episode in a long time, but looking at some of the characters in Bobby's World, it just screams 90s.
Just wanted to mention that.

Batman:TAS is amazing with how well everything holds up exactly the same as it did in 1992. It's a combination of the characters and concepts being boiled down to their cores, and the Fleisher-esque Forties deco style that makes it such that it doesn't look dated.
I daresay no show, animated or otherwise, has been that timeless looking.

The first seasons of ReBoot and beast Wars are pretty damn dated. Stiff character models, bland environments, cheesy acting and scripts. It feels like I'm watching an extended PSOne cutscene,
Second and third seasons for both shows are still really damn good though.
