"And if so, is he on the police payroll? And if so, what's he pulling down... after taxes?" Happy 25th anniversary to Batman, released on this day in 1989.

I know this is pretty much blasphemy, but I think this movie is boring as shit. I love the way Gotham looks, but that's about it. I don't care for Nicholson's Joker at all. Keaton is a good Bruce/Batman, but he's bogged down by a boring story and an interpretation of the Joker that I just can't get behind.
I actually like Batman Returns a lot better, despite the fact that it's a clusterf*** that makes absolutely zero sense.

I like this movie but I'd put Nolan's series above it.
But we got The Animated Series due to the success of this and Returns so yay.

I think this has some lulls, but I love both Keaton films for different reasons. My only real complaint is that Batman's head being fused in place is incredibly obvious on closeups, but filmed in a way to hide its weaknesses a little more helps.

"Hey Count Dracula, have you seen Bigfoot today?"
There was a time a couple years back when I was sour on the Burton Batmen, but I now accept it for what it is. (I guess realizing that the Nolan films weren't perfect either helped). And yes, it begat B:TAS which PERFECTED the Bat Formula.

I remember it well. Robert Wuhl-mania struck the nation. It was only a matter of time before Arl$$ became the most sucessful television show in history.

I wish the Batdance video was online, but I think it's been blocked.

Fact: both Burton plots happened in the West series, oddly enough.

A truly important movie in FAN history as well, as it gave us the "He's at home, washing his tights!" response to any missing wrestler.

Now comes the part where I relieve you, the little people, of the burden of your failed and useless lives. But, as my plastic surgeon always said: if you gotta go, go with a smile.
I to no ones surprise really like this film.

Did we ever find out what happened to Johnny Gobbs? He got ripped and took a walk off a roof, alright? No big loss.
