You know that wouldn't keep him away from the main event or titles right? Freshly turned heel Cena would be in there like swimwear. Plus there's that whole no guarantee that he'd be the heel character people are clamoring for *sips tea*

I agree about him working matches recently, I've found myself liking them. The finishes though. It feels like when it comes down to Cena finishing a match he can't make a guy look good in a loss because he "Hulks Up" and just puts them away.
Last Match I definitively hated from Cena, and the perfect example of this, was vs Sandow with one f***ing arm. Suffice to say, we saw how that's fared for Sandow's Career.
Oh God, that Sandow match. I was one of those fools "That made Sandow look great, they're really going to do something with him". When DX Buried Sandow, I said "Ok, that's great, he was featured, they have some plans for him!". Then he won MITB! And it looked like I was right
But I knew the second Cena beat him with one arm he was screwed, screwed like everyone in the Nexus not named Wade Barrett...

The f***ed up thing, is...as much as I don't like to see him win the title, it's usually really interesting to see when he drops it, now this isn't always the case (Orton, Sheamus*, Del Rio), but more times than not, it leads to a compelling program. Punk's MITB title win wouldn't have been as special had their not been someone like Cena in place, Edge cashing in for the first time wouldn't have been as interesting, even his initial series with Orton in 2007 was good because Cena was on the verge of making recent history before they beat that horse to death.
*the Sheamus victory has nothing to do with Sheamus himself, but more of the randomness of the swap and the lack of drama behind the feud. Sheamus going into thing felt like the monster of the week for Cena to overcome, it actually reminded me of Hogan/Taker in '91 for some reason.

There's nothing to like about him. He has enough pull in the company to push for a new character direction but instead he would rather bore us all to death for 10+ years. I hate him for this reason alone. Turn f***ing heel already. Nobody wants to see you winning your 400th title. TURN. HEEL. Christ. I wanted him to turn heel in 2010. At this point I just want Cena to retire and never come back ._.

He's a great wrestler, he cuts good promos, he's fantastic with fans, especially through Make-a-Wish, can chop wood faster than Daniel Bryan, and cares about the potential damage caused by not using coasters.

He's a legitimately very good wrestler, in a certain sense.
I think Cena would have one of the best "greatest hits" DVD sets ever, because you'd get all of his matches largely divorced from the putrid booking that surrounded them. But his booking so often seeps into everything he does that it's difficult, for me at least, to enjoy any of his work. That Wyatt LMS may be considered a classic, but to me it was an entertaining spotfest with no real drama. Give it a couple years though, once the feud is long forgotten and Wyatt has been relegated to a comedy jobber, and I'll probably think it's awesome.
So in terms of pure in-ring work, the guy is one of the best, it's just really difficult to see that sometimes (no pun intended).

Hmmmmm... no I just don't see Cena being one of the best In Ring Workers. I mean I can agree that he can put on good matches, but in terms of in ring workers there are many that are superior to Cena and are always changing their style and doing different things, hence, why people really grow tired of Cena's work.

Remember several months ago when he actually put Bryan over? Despite the poor booking that followed it, Cena went out there completely intending to put Bryan over, both promo wise and in the ring.
I'm really hoping that him having the title leads to him putting another up&comer over. Either that or Lesnar comes and just crushes Cena, makes juice out of his pulp.

The only thing I don't like about him as champion is the complaining that happens here.

I know it's bad, but i wish he suffers a career ending injury soon so we could get rid of him. Something ridiculous that would prevent him from wrestling without altering his health and his personnal life because I have no hate for the guy. I don't know, something like alergia to the ring ropes, something, anything. Retire John, Have a kid and retire. Please.

He's consistent. He's also the only one I've ever known to be both a huge heel and huge face at the same time to all arenas. The more I think about that it kind of blows my mind. I look at the audiences and see the kids just enthralled by him but most of the adults are just like "DAMN IT!!! Stop smiling and being so nice and corny! BOOOOOOOO!!!!". Its like flipping a coin and it landing on the edge. Its just kind of amazing to actually see.

Well, with the Bryan thing, they did pretty much avoid mentioning it as much as possible after it happened, and Cena's promo the next night was basically, "I was injured. Not making excuses but, y'know, I was injured. Keep that in mind." Still, though.

I like it when he loses to babyfaces. It's never not been the most interesting aspect of his booking.

I still enjoy his loses to Rob Van Dam, CM Punk, The Rock, and Daniel Bryan. I can't think of another "popular" world champion that's been booked that often like that with such a positive response from the fans. It really says a lot about him.
